LLC Federal Tax ID Number (EIN)

08:46
*IMPORTANT: Make sure your LLC is approved BEFORE applying for an EIN. If you do the EIN first, you’ll be attaching the EIN to yourself personally (as a Sole Proprietorship)... and therefore, your personal assets will not be protected. IRS Online EIN Application: https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/apply-for-an-employer-identification-number-ein-online Our website: https://www.llcuniversity.com [=================================] -- WHAT IS AN EIN (FEDERAL TAX ID NUMBER)? -- A Federal Tax ID Number is issued by the IRS to business entities. It is also known as an EIN, or Employer Identification Number. For simplicity, we will refer to it as the EIN. An EIN is to a business what a Social Security Number is to an individual. It basically identifies your LLC to the IRS. Even though it is called an Employer Identification Number, it does not mean that you have to have employees. [=================================] -- WHAT IS ARE EINs USED FOR? -- EINs are used for: – Opening business checking, savings, or investment accounts. – Filing taxes. – Handling employee payroll (if applicable). – Obtaining business lines of credit or business loans. – Obtaining credit cards in the name of the LLC. – Applying for business licenses. [=================================] -- WHAT DOES AN EIN LOOK LIKE? -- An EIN is similar to a Social Security Number in that it has 9 digits. To differentiate an EIN from an SSN, there are 2 digits followed by a hyphen and then 7 more digits. An EIN will look like this: 68 – 3302189 [=================================] -- HOW MUCH DOES AN EIN COST? -- An EIN is free. You can obtain an EIN from the IRS: https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/apply-for-an-employer-identification-number-ein-online (unfortunately, many websites charge $50 – $100) [=================================] -- ALREADY HAVE AN EIN? -- If you already have an EIN (before forming your LLC), it’s most likely attached to a Sole Proprietorship. This is quite a common mistake. You’ll need to close out that EIN and get a different one for your LLC (after your LLC is approved). Here’s how to close out an EIN: https://www.llcuniversity.com/cancel-ein/ [=================================] -- QUESTIONS DURING APPLICATION -- If you have any questions or if there are any errors messages that appear during your EIN online application, please contact the IRS at 800-829-4933. You can find additional IRS phone numbers at this link: https://www.irs.gov/uac/telephone-assistance [=================================] -- FOREIGN NATIONALS & ITIN -- If you are a foreign national and you need to apply for your ITIN please see the following information on the IRS’s website: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Individual-Taxpayer-Identification-Number-ITIN [=================================] -- OPENING A BUSINESS BANK ACCOUNT -- You will need your EIN and your approved LLC documents (Articles of Organization, Certificate of Organization, Certificate of Formation, etc) to open a business checking account. [=================================] -- DISCLAIMER -- This information is provided for educational purposes only and in no way constitutes legal, tax, or financial advice. For legal, tax, or financial advice specific to your business needs, we encourage you to consult with a licensed attorney and/or CPA in your state. LLC Operating Agreement (template + instructions)

13:09
Operating Agreement Download (Word Doc): https://www.llcuniversity.com/wp-content/uploads/Free-LLC-Operating-Agreement-v1.1.doc Operating Agreement Download (PDF): https://www.llcuniversity.com/wp-content/uploads/Free-LLC-Operating-Agreement-v1.1.pdf Operating Agreement Download (Google Docs): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1W8Fc-ksM4YQ8hAYWSE0yBLJQ0FyG1dJJuP6ZUod5fp0/copy Our website: https://www.llcuniversity.com [=================================] -- WHAT IS AN LLC OPERATING AGREEMENT? -- An Operating Agreement is an agreement for the member(s) of your LLC that sets forth how the LLC will be managed both financially and operationally. Your Operating Agreement also spells out how much of the LLC each member owns. You can have 1 member who owns 100%, you can have 2 members with a 50/50 split, 60/40, 70/30 (anything really!), or you can have 3 or more members and you can split the ownership any way you’d like. The LLC is a flexible business structure. There is no limit on the number of members you can have. And, there are no restrictions on how you split the ownership of the company. [=================================] -- OPERATING AGREEMENT IS AN “INTERNAL DOCUMENT” Unlike your LLC Formation Documents, the Operating Agreement does not need to be mailed anywhere. You do not need to mail it to the State. You do not need to mail it to the IRS. It is strictly an “internal document”. This means that you will just keep a copy with your other business documents. [=================================] -- PURPOSE OF THE LLC OPERATING AGREEMENT -- Again, the purpose of the Operating Agreement is to spell out who the member(s) are and what percentage of the LLC they own, also known as their “membership interest”. It also defines how the LLC is managed, how taxes are paid, and how profits and losses are distributed amongst the member(s). Remember, your LLC can be owned by one person (called a Single-Member LLC) or your LLC can be owned by 2 or more people (called a Multi-Member LLC). [=================================] -- WHAT YOU NEED FOR YOUR LLC OPERATING AGREEMENT -- In order to complete your Operating Agreement, you will need some basic information. • The formation date of your LLC. • The name and address of the Registered Office and Registered Agent. • The general business purpose of the LLC. • Member(s) percentages of ownership. • Names of the Members and their addresses. Your final Operating Agreement is not “set in stone”. You can make changes as needed. [=================================] -- MAKING CHANGES TO YOUR LLC OPERATING AGREEMENT -- One of the benefits of forming an LLC is the flexibility of managing your business. The Operating Agreement is a working document that is meant to be fluid and allow for changes as your business grows. If you want to make simple changes (such as a change of address for a member or changing your Registered Office or Registered Agent), you’ll need to revise the original Operating Agreement. If, however, you need to make complex changes (for example one member purchases the interests of another member, or you decide to raise financing with investors), it is best to hire an attorney. Making changes like these can have negative legal and tax consequences if done incorrectly. Once all changes are made, you’ll need to print the new Operating Agreement and have all of the members sign it. It is best practice to keep a copy of all versions of your Operating Agreement so you have a history of the changes that were made. [=================================] -- WHO NEEDS YOUR LLC OPERATING AGREEMENT? -- You may need to provide a copy of your Operating Agreement to: • A lender if you are obtaining financing • A title company if you are purchasing real estate • Accounting and tax professionals for financial assistance • Lawyers for legal advice • Potential investors or partners who have an interest in your business [=================================] -- OPERATING AGREEMENT PROTECTS YOUR ASSETS -- If you’re involved in a legal battle, the Court will likely ask for your LLC’s Operating Agreement. Having one can help prove to the Court that you have a legitimate LLC and that you are running your business properly. If the Courts were to find you running an LLC without an Operating Agreement, they may go after your personal assets. [=================================] -- DISCLAIMER -- This information is provided for educational purposes only and in no way constitutes legal, tax, or financial advice. For legal, tax, or financial advice specific to your business needs, we encourage you to consult with a licensed attorney and/or CPA in your state. The Certificate of English Proficiency (CEP) is a one-year, full-time program of English Language academic preparation designed for students of art, design, and architecture who intend to continue in their fields of study at Pratt Institute or other art colleges in the United States. It is particularly helpful to applicants to Pratt Institute degree programs who have not yet achieved the necessary TOEFL score for admission, as well as for students who recognize the need to improve their level of English proficiency before matriculating in a degree program at the Institute. Students who are accepted for the CEP program are issued I-20 forms from Pratt Institute for two semesters of English instruction on our Brooklyn campus. The Certificate of English Proficiency Program includes 24 hours of study per week for 15 weeks (6 hours per day, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) The CEP program curriculum emphasizes practical, communicative, student-centered instruction in every aspect of English reading, writing, speaking, listening, and accuracy. During each 15-week semester, participants take four skill-focused, content-based courses designed to prepare students for academic and creative success beyond the CEP Program. Most courses have themes related to students' interests and future careers in art and design. Sample course themes include: Designing Public Spaces, Art and Technology, Film as Art, What is Beauty?, Artists and Society, Lifestyle by Design: Consumerism and Identity, Minimalism/ Maximalism, and International New York: City as Text.

How To Become A Life Coach - Every Part of the Process Revealed in Detail

12:18
How To Become A Life Coach - Learn the keys to becoming a great life coach in under 15 minutes! Check out Actualized.org for more free videos! The Ultimate Life Purpose Course - Create Your Dream Career: http://www.actualized.org/life-purpose-course Leo's Top 140 Self Help Books http://www.actualized.org/books Hey, this is Leo for Actualized.org. Here we're doing another quick self-help segment where I'm going to quickly cover the topic of how to become a life coach. I am a life coach so I'm qualified to talk about this. I went through the process. It's actually not hard. If you're interested in becoming a life coach, listen up because I'm going to give you some quick tips and techniques and give you a plan for how to do it. I'll go into much deeper detail on it in some other video where I can talk about it at length. Since this is a quick rapid-fire segment, I'm just going to give you the skinny and the practical things that you can do right now. If you want to become a life coach, the best thing that I can recommend is to join a life coach training program. There are many programs out there. Make sure that you get one that is credible and has some good reviews and that provides you with certification. Certification comes from the International Coaching Federation. You can look up their website. There they'll have a list of all sorts of schools that they accredit and that will give you the kind of training that is in line with the International Coaching Federation. You want to align with a school that's aligned with the ICF because the ICF is the standard governing body across the world for coaches. It just came out as the standard and now everybody is on board with that. Honestly, you don't even need a coaching certification to be a coach. What I do find valuable in the training programs, though, is that they teach you what it means to be a coach because it's not all that it seems to be at the beginning. Let me give you some details on these certification programs. I went through a program called iPEC. You can Google them. They're one of the best programs out there. It's a comprehensive program. It costs around $9,000 to do. It is a little bit pricey, but you have to put that in perspective with everything else that is out here. Any decent coaching program around is going to cost you somewhere in the range of $8,000 to $10,000. iPEC is competitive there and they don't have any extra hidden fees or anything. That's it. You just pay the $9,000 and then you do the program. It's pretty nice. You have to ask yourself if that's worth it to you. If this is going to be your career and your profession, then it's actually not a big price to pay. With any other serious profession that you would go into, you would spend way more than $10,000 to get degrees, certifications, and trainings. It would take you a lot longer than it will take you to finish a coaching program -- even a comprehensive one like iPEC. The iPEC takes about ten months to do the whole curriculum. They do it in modules. You have four modules and you take one module then you get two or three months to do the homework assignments and the practice of coaching throughout that. Then they have another module where they train you for a weekend and then you do another couple months of training and homework assignments. Then they do more of these modules. Through this module process, you can learn to become a coach. Article continues at: http://www.actualized.org/articles/how-to-become-a-life-coach

We’re going to begin with computer networks, and how they grew from small groups of connected computers on LAN networks to eventually larger worldwide networks like the ARPANET and even the Internet we know today. We'll also discuss how many technologies like Ethernet, MAC addresses, IP Addresses, packet switching, network switches, and TCP/IP were implemented to new problems as our computers became ever-increasingly connected. Next week we’ll talk about the Internet, and the week after the World Wide Web! 15 Defensive Driving Secrets That Can Save Your Life

08:14
How to drive a car safely? How to drive a car with an automatic transmission? Safety is everything when it comes to driving. For example, do you know how to drive in winter weather? If you don't feel sure about your driving skills, then watch these 15 secrets from the specialists of defensive driving. The most important rule for when you’re in a drift is not to brake. We mean than blocked wheels don’t let the driver control the car at all. There are only two ways of dealing with drifts, and they are different for each type of drive. We're sure that you know these methods, but we still have a few secrets from the specialists of defensive driving to offer you. TIMESTAMPS How to avoid a car accident 0:29 Always keep the right distance 0:55 Look further 1:13 Use clutch and brake in the winter 1:34 How to drive in fog 1:56 ABS VS. no ABS 2:23 How to drive when drifting 3:08 Check the road 4:21 Divide by two 4:48 The surface road 5:11 Pick a side 5:36 Higher gear 5:51 Don’t overestimate other drivers 6:05 Have an emergency plan 6:32 Use car technology wisely 7:04 SUMMARY Where danger can come from. The places where people brake more often are usually the most slippery: before turns, pedestrian crossings, and bus stops. You should keep the same speed there and start braking early. Keeping the right distance. In winter, the distance between two cars should be two times bigger than in summer. But don’t leave too much space because someone else will want to get in the middle. Looking further Don’t look only at the car in front of you. Keep it in your sight, but also look further — 4-5 cars further. Using clutch and brake in the winter. In winter, you shouldn’t push the clutch pedal together with the brake pedal. In this case, the wheels can get blocked and the car will be put into a drift. Driving in fog. Make sure your headlights are on but don’t use high beams. Those will reflect off of the vapor in the air and only make things worse. ABS VS. no ABS. ABS car owners. The anti-lock braking system neutralizes the brake pedal on icy roads if you push it too fast and too hard. Instead of braking suddenly, the system causes the pedal to vibrate, so you can turn the wheel and put it in the initial position. None ABS car owners. The best way to brake in winter is using the brake pedal together with the downshift speeds. You should push the brake pedal shortly and then fully unblock the wheels. Repeat before the full stop. How to regain control when drifting If your car starts drifting, don’t panic and don’t hit the brake pedal! Another mistake most people make is wrenching the wheel round and in this way over-compensating. Check the road. When driving on winter roads, hit the brake pedal and let it go several times. If you feel that the car stops, the road is good; if you don’t, it means that the road is icy. Do this as often as possible. Make sure you aren’t creating dangerous situations, of course. Divide by two. If in summer you can drive at 80 miles per hour, then in winter, you should drive at 40 miles per hour. This way, you will make sure that you will have enough time to react if your car starts drifting. The surface road. On any road, try to drive the car so that all 4 wheels are on the same surface. Pick a side To avoid bounces between the walls of a deep track, push either the inside or the outside part of the wheels against the wall. Higher gear. On an icy road, you should drive in a higher gear. Again, take the summer norm and increase the gear by one when you’re driving in winter. Don’t overestimate other drivers. People will speed, drive on red, and not let you merge from time to time. Staying alert for others to make mistakes is an essential defensive driving trick. Have an emergency plan. Always leave enough space around your car to swerve to safety if you should. An emergency plan and an escape route in mind provide extra safety for you. Use technology wisely. Use planners available for your smartphone to make sure you never forget to have your wheels changed. Set a reminder right now, so every October you will be reminded that it’s time you thought about your safety. What driving secrets do you know? Feel free to share them in the comments. Sci-Hub was launched in 2011 by Kazakhstan graduate student Alexandra Elbakyan. Since then Sci-Hub has been at the center of controversy and legal battles. Sci-Hub offers over 58,000,000 articles free to users by bypassing publisher’s paywalls, illegally. New articles are uploaded daily, perhaps by access through educational institutional proxies. Sci-Hub has been the subject of numerous lawsuits, most notably by Elsevier. Starting in 2015, a complaint was filed against the original domain. Following the loss of the domain, Sci-Hub has used several other domains, some of which have been blocked in certain countries. Despite these efforts, the site remains active but sometimes requires additional steps to access including the option of a direct IP address. In April 2016, Elbakyan told Science magazine that many academics from around the world donate their credentials, while publishers have claimed that Sci-Hub relies on credentials obtained by illegal means. Sci-Hub also began collaborating with Library Genesis or LibGen, a repository of educational books and documents in Russia. The Sci-Hub site is financed by user donations paid in bitcoins. The website has widespread popularity in both developed and developing countries including the United States, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, China, Russia, Brazil, and the whole European Union. The goal of Elbakyan has been to spread knowledge by allowing more people to access paywalled content. Elbakyan has cited the UN Declaration of Human Rights "to share in scientific advancement and its benefits" as her rationale. She claims the content is hindered by publishers demanding excessive payment for content which is written and donated by researchers. Sci-Hub has been compared to, among others, Napster and Edward Snowden. There are some great discussions about Sci-Hub: see the Scholarly Kitchen at sspnet.org for several great articles from the publisher’s point of view. Also, see Science magazine in April 2016 for another valuable article, “Who's downloading pirated papers? Everyone” which is worth the read. And most importantly read the comments at the end of all of these articles to get a flavor of the passion out there on the researchers and readers side. I’ll post a link to these in the comments below this video. All publishers with a paywall or that require login for membership are being affected by Sci-Hub today, whether they know it or not. Sci-Hub conversely does not appear to be going anywhere, anytime soon. This situation will continue to be followed closely as this push and pull over fair access to academic knowledge and the right to monetize a product are debated. Well that’s it. Hit the Like button below if you enjoyed this video. Please subscribe to my YouTube channel or click on the playlist to see more videos about Sci-Hub. And make comments below or email me with questions. Thank so much and take care. This is only about 1% of the population. But within the working age population, it’s 1.6%. But the number is increasing. Compared to 10 years ago, the number is more than double. As for nationalities. The top ones are Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipinos, and Brazilians. Those nationalities account for nearly 70% of the foreign workers in Japan. Now we are going to talk about the types of their status. This is the important part so pay attention. The most important categories are family permit, non-work permit, technical intern training, and professional or skilled work permit as they account for 97.9% of the people. Trainees are ostensibly people who come to Japan to learn skills so that they can bring those skills back to their country. But in reality, it’s often a way for many companies to hire cheap workers and find people for jobs that Japanese people don’t want to work anymore. Sounds familiar? Well, this happens in many countries and Japan is not an exception. These jobs include farming, fishing, construction and different types of factory work as those industries have been facing chronic labour shortages. But since the original purpose of this programme is to train, you can only stay in Japan for a limited time, five years at most. This means that low skilled workers can’t continue renewing their visa and stay in Japan. -- sources --- Trainee, EPA http://mainichi.jp/articles/20161021/dde/001/010/088000c Definition http://www.unesco.org/new/en/social-and-human-sciences/themes/international-migration/glossary/migrant/ なぜ日本には外国人労働者が殺到しないのか http://toyokeizai.net/articles/-/166473?page=3 25 countries best at attracting foreign talent https://www.valuewalk.com/2017/08/foreign-workers/ 「外国人技能実習生」受け入れ企業、7割で労基法違反 http://www.itmedia.co.jp/business/articles/1708/10/news096.html 人手不足倒産 https://www.tdb.co.jp/report/watching/press/pdf/p170701.pdf Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe refuses to relax immigration rules despite shrinking population https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/japan-immigration-shinzo-abe-refuse-relax-rules-prime-minister-policy-shrinking-population-foreign-a8065281.html Forget moving to Canada — it just got easier to become a permanent resident of Japan http://www.businessinsider.com/japan-permanent-residency-rules-relaxed-2017-3 外国人依存ニッポン https://www.nhk.or.jp/d-navi/izon/prologue.html

LPN to RN

08:22
More and more LPNs are also choosing to further their careers through LPN to RN degree programs. There are two options depending on the degree you want to earn on your way to qualifying for an RN license: LPN to ADN tracks that can be completed in as little as one year, and LPN to BSN programs that take about two years to complete. There are LPN to BSN bridge programs accredited online which is a great option for many students. These nurses have more responsibility for patient care and many make 50 percent more than LPNs. With the high demand for skilled nurses, bridge programs are a popular option for LPNs wanting to advance their career and become registered nurses. These programs can be taken at a local college or university but many schools offer online options. Tips for the LPN to BSN bridge program As mentioned earlier, nursing programs are very competitive. To be accepted and complete the program, you need to remember a few things. - In most programs, you can decide how many classes you want to take. This will also determine how soon you receive your BSN. A full-time student in the bridge program can take two to three years. If you have work and family obligations, you may take longer. However, make sure you get credit for your on-the-job and academic credit. This will allow you to save money and finish the program sooner. - You will take a variety of courses as you complete your BSN along with the demanding nursing curriculum. If you are a person who is not disciplined enough to study or if you don’t like school, this program may not be for you. In most programs, you can decide how many classes you want to take. This will also determine how soon you receive your BSN. If you have work and family obligations, you may take longer. - Apply early for financial aid. Some nursing bridge programs are expensive and even though you may be working while you attend school, you may need help to pay for the program. - When searching for an accredited LPN to BSN bridge program online - make sure they have either Accreditation Commission For Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation. It should say this on their website. From LPN to MSN Even if you’re staring out with an LPN certificate, you can take advantage of a bridge program and shortcut the path to earning a Master of Science in Nursing. Still, there’s no way around the fact that you’re going to need to an RN license before being able to enroll in an MSN program. The most direct path to accomplishing this would be to enroll in an LPN to BSN program, earning your RN along the way, before then going on to enroll in a separate MSN program. Alternately, you could complete an LPN to ADN program to qualify for your RN, then go on to enroll in a separate RN to MSN program. The MSN you earn will have a specific focus in an area that aligns with your career path. How To Study For & Pass The FAA Drone Test!

My entry featured students speaking about why they chose Texas A&M and what they enjoyed about the university. Throughout the video, I featured pretty shots of campus that I shot with my trusty Sony HDR-UX1 (recording to mini-DVDs, SD cards weren't fast or large enough yet). The shot that set my contest entry apart from the others though, was an aerial video of campus that I filmed from a plane. Yes, I actually rode in a plane over campus to get a shot for my video! This blew away the judges considering that aerial video was still relatively rare (unless you happened to have a pilot father - thanks dad). Nine years later, aerial video is now mainstream. People are buying Millennium Falcon camera drones, stuffing their dead cats and turning them into quadcopters, and anyone with a cell phone can purchase a flying camera for as little as $20. My aerial video in 2008 that took so much effort and timing, could now be accomplished by any kid with a drone Christmas present. It would probably look smoother and be better colored too. In August of 2016, the Federal Aviation Administration passed their official rules for commercial drone usage in the United States. Up until this point, if you wanted to make money flying your drone you had to apply for a Section 333 waiver and actually possess a pilot's license to fly a drone. This all changed with the FAA's Part 107 ruling, which made getting a license to fly your drone for commercial purposes as easy as taking a knowledge test, no pilot's license required. Now when I say easy, I mean easier than getting an actual pilot's license, not that the test itself is easy. Which brings us to this video that I created today, which is all about why you should take the knowledge test, and how to study for and pass it. In the video, I detail the exact resources that I used to pass the Part 107 knowledge test. These resources are now listed below in order that I speak about them in the video. If you study these materials, you shouldn't need to spend any extra money on any courses or classes for the test. But, if you find that you benefit more from a classroom setting, I would recommend checking out Drone Pilot Ground School and Remote Pilot 101. That's it! Read and study these articles, listen to the podcast, take the practice test, and when you're ready, go and take the real thing. If you take your time and prepare, you'll pass like I did. Are MCSD Certifications A Good Option? (Programmer Career Move?)

07:30
What Programming Language Should Programmers Learn In 2019? 💻 👉🏻https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwaSHqAWPUU What Programming Language Should Programmers Learn In 2019? 💻 👉🏻https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwaSHqAWPUU Should I Focus On Getting Certifications?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LAzOBhIfPE Are MCSD Certifications A Good Option? A lot of programmers ask me this question: Should I get MCSD certifications? Well, to answer this question, first, we need to address what are MCSD and talk about if certifications are a good way to build a viable (and smart) career choice. For those who don't know, "The Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer is Microsoft's prevailing certification for programmers and application developers. The MCSD covers current Visual Studio versions (for the MCSD: Application Lifecycle Management cert) and also emphasizes HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, C#, ASP.NET, Azure, Web Services and SharePoint. Within each credential you'll find various specialties that focus on specific job roles or target specific application types. There are a lot of options to choose from in this program, which currently includes five different MCSD credentials, including Windows Store Apps, Web Applications, SharePoint Applications, Azure Solutions Architect and Application Lifecycle Management. Depending on the MCSD certification sought, candidates can expect to take three or four exams to obtain the credential. There are no required training courses, though all MCSD exams are associated with one or more Microsoft Official Curriculum course offerings. Look for online learning deals for the best bang for your buck. Because of the MCSD: Windows Store App credential requires proficiency in a programming language (either HTML5 or C#), candidates who pass one of the associated programming exams earn a Microsoft Specialist certification in Visual Studio. The current programming exams are Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3 (exam number 480) and Programming in C# (exam number 483)." Source: http://www.tomsitpro.com/articles/programming-certifications,2-274-2.html So, these are one of the most common types of certifications for technology and people can be really obsessed with it. However, are these the only option to boost your career? What should you really consider when it comes to getting certifications? Should you even consider getting certifications if you're looking for a job? Watch this video and find out! How to Display Comment Counts on Your Site

01:54
Learn more: https://help.disqus.com/developer/adding-comment-count-links-to-your-home-page TRANSCRIPT Let readers know where discussions are happening by showing the comment count for articles on your homepage. In this tutorial, I’m going to walk you through the steps to implement comment counts on your site. For this example, I’ll be using the Disqus blog. #1. count.js code snippet (0:15) To get started, we will need to add a single line of JavaScript code to our site’s homepage template. Here’s the code snippet we’ll be adding. You can copy this from either the Universal Code installation instructions page in your Disqus Admin or in our Knowledge Base article. #2. Update code snippet with your shortname (0:29) Make sure to update the snippet with your site’s shortname. You can find your shortname in the General Settings. #3. Paste code snippet in your site's template (0:37) Next up: Paste the code snippet before the closing body tag in your site’s template. You’ll need to add it to every page where you want comment counts to appear. On the Disqus Blog, we use Hubspot as our CMS. We’re going to add the snippet to the Footer HTML for Blog Listing Pages. #4. Append #disqus_thread to article links where you want comment counts to appear (0:55) Finally, add article links ending in # (hash) disqus_thread to your site’s template where you want the counts to appear. This lets Disqus know which article to look up and return the corresponding comment count. For the Disqus Blog, we’re going to add the counts beneath the article titles. Let’s check the blog now. Looks like the comment counts are showing. When readers click the link, they’ll be able to load the article and jump directly to the discussion. #5. Customize comment count text (1:24) If you’d like to customize the comment count text, you can do that in your Community Settings. For example, if an article has no comments, you can change the default text to a call-to-action. This is also useful for translating the text for your site’s specific language. I hope you found this tutorial helpful. If you’d like to learn how to add comment counts to non-link elements or use identifiers for generating counts, check out our knowledge base. Thanks for watching.

Cybersecurity: Crash Course Computer Science #31

Cybersecurity is a set of techniques to protect the secrecy, integrity, and availability of computer systems and data against threats. In today’s episode, we’re going to unpack these three goals and talk through some strategies we use like passwords, biometrics, and access privileges to keep our information as secure, but also as accessible as possible. From massive Denial of Service, or DDos attacks, to malware and brute force password cracking there are a lot of ways for hackers to gain access to your data, so we’ll also discuss some strategies like creating strong passwords, and using 2-factor authentication, to keep your information safe. 15 Foods That Reduce Your Heart Attack Risk by 80%

13:11
Do you want to clean your blood vessels? How to decrease the risk of heart attacks in the future? Are you ready to improve your overall well-being? Here are 15 food products that can take care of your heart and prevent heart diseases. Our heart is one of the most important organs, but, surprisingly, we take care of it the least, loading it every day with stress and unhealthy diets. And that's too bad because fatty food increases cholesterol levels, which leads to vascular plaques that prevent the heart from working correctly. In this video, you will get familiar with 15 products that perform all these activities! Some of them might surprise you with their health benefits! Watch till the end - as a bonus, you will find a recipe for a special drink for healthy blood vessels. And remember to press the like button in appreciation of our work! TIMESTAMPS Fatty fish 1:05 Oatmeal 1:51 Berries 2:30 Dark chocolate 3:19 Nuts 4:00 Extra virgin olive oil 4:45 Red wine 5:23 Green tea 5:53 Broccoli and spinach 6:35 Avocado 7:39 Pomegranate 8:13 Cinnamon 8:43 Watermelon 9:14 Garlic 9:43 Apples and pears 10:28 SUMMARY - Salmon, mackerel, herring, haddock, and other fatty fish decrease the risk of arrhythmia and atherosclerosis. They also contain lots of vitamins as well as minerals. - Rich in fiber, porridge decreases the levels of "bad" cholesterol and improves digestion. Coarse oatmeal is the healthiest. - Blueberries and strawberries are very good at lowering blood pressure and dilating blood vessels. Strawberry-lovers also get fiber, folate, antioxidants, and potassium from their favorite berries. - Dark chocolate provides the anti-stress effect as it increases the production of serotonin which is known for its calming effect. Cocoa, the main component of dark chocolate, also helps to prevent memory decline. - Nuts contain protein fibers that are useful for the heart. They also have vitamin E as their ingredient which helps to decrease the levels of "bad" cholesterol. - Olive oil is very high in oleic acid which reduces blood pressure. It is interesting that when the olives are crashed, oil leaves them naturally; therefore, beneficial ingredients and vitamins are not harmed by chemicals or preservatives. - French scientists have also found out that red wine contains some elements which can prolong a human lifespan for about 60 percent! Saying this, it still should be consumed in moderation. - Green tea makes the brain function better. This drink may decrease the risk of different types of cancer (such as prostate and breast cancer). - Broccoli, in particular, has a lot of medicinal benefits, such as prevention of some kinds of cancer, digestive system improvement, detoxification of the body. It also resembles a vitamin injection, filling you with numerous vitamins and minerals. - Avocados are packed with fiber, which can be useful for weight loss, blood sugar reduction, and other health-benefitting processes. - Pomegranates contain antioxidants, lower blood pressure, normalize blood circulation and increase hemoglobin levels. - Cinnamon can protect you from heart diseases and atherosclerosis. It also boosts metabolism and helps you to lose weight. - Watermelon plays an important role in vascular health. It stabilizes the cholesterol levels and contains antioxidants. It provides hydration, which is a great thing for your body. - Garlic dilates the vessels, lowers blood pressure, alleviates vasoconstriction, and prevents atherosclerotic plaques from appearing. It improves digestion as well, assisting in the functioning of the intestines. - Apples and pears are rich in fiber that helps your heart. They normalize blood circulation and are cheaper and more readily available alternatives to pomegranates. Besides, apples will help to maintain white and healthy teeth. Professional Organizer and Life Coach Colette Robicheau shares the best ways to live frugally and simply. She shares tips on living a simple, buy nothing, lifestyle. Organize Anything, Robicheau's professional organizing company, focuses on environmentally sound practices and reducing cost whenever possible. Her low buy no buy philosophy is appreciated by her many clients. Get great ideas from Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/organything/new-uses-for-things-you-already-have/ Check out our blog for useful articles like this one: Living a frugal lifestyle can seem daunting, and a desire to "keep up with the Joneses" can lead us to spend money on possessions we don't need or even really want. So how do we escape this cycle of mindless spending? It's simple. Find new, creative and fun ways to use what you have. Organize Anything has a few great ideas of how to avoid spending money on things you don't really need. 1. Don't buy new books or magazines. Read the ones you bought and never got to, and give away the ones you aren't going to read. Magazines tend to pile up, so cancel your subscriptions and only purchase one if it contains articles you really want to read. 2. Reacquaint yourself with your local library. Beyond books, most libraries have a comprehensive DVD, CD and EBook collections. Some libraries also offer an excellent collection of online, downloadable offerings for those of you who prefer to listen to a book than read it. And the best part? No clutter at home and it's free! 3. Revisit old hobbies. If you've been itching for something to do in your spare time, take a look at the last hobby you picked up. If you gave up knitting because you didn't have time, give it another shot. You already have all the supplies you need, don't need to relearn how to do it, and you may discover a new appreciation for it. If you don't it's now time to pass along to someone who would enjoy the supplies. 4. Spare change no more. Gather all your spare change into one place and keep it in a jar. Once the jar is full, roll it up and use it to buy a treat or give it in increments to your kids for lunch money. You'll be surprised how quickly the pennies will add up to a substantial sum of money. 5. Make your own fancy dinner. Grocery stores carry some excellent frozen gourmet meals. Pick up a few components that you can store in the freezer, so the next time you want to go out to eat at a swanky restaurant you can recreate the experience at home. 6. You collect the points, so redeem them. It seems that everyone offers a loyalty point program these days, so take advantage. Take a look at the rewards selection and treat yourself to a trip, service or product. 7. Shop from your friend's homes. Have a clothing swap or let others know you are letting go of some articles and would like to exchange them for things that you need. You'll be surprised by how well this works for your pocket book and it's a fun way to connect with friends and family as well. 8. Use up those gift certifcates. When you receive a gift certificate, note the expiry date in your calendar. Use them to treat yourself to a spa day or a nice dinner when the budget is a tight. Frugal living takes a little planning, but it doesn't have to negatively affect your lifestyle. These easy eight tips will start you on your way to reaping the benefits of a more frugal lifestyle If you have any questions, or would like to book Colette to come and help you, visit us online at www.organizeanything.com, on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/organizeanything, on Twitter at http://twitter.com/organizenow or at our blog: http://www.organizeanything.wordpress.com

NP vs PA

07:23
Comparing Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Career Paths. When looking to achieve a high tier in your profession, it can be daunting to choose your path. Becoming a nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) could provide a rewarding and lucrative career. This article will guide you along the path of becoming an advanced practice provider. As a prospective nurse practitioner or physician assistant student, let’s take a look at the differences between these two roles. Which one is the right choice for you? Now let’s list the difference between NP and PA. Physician assistants and nurse practitioners are educated from fundamentally different viewpoints. A PA is medically trained from the medical model. The medical model focuses on the pathology of the problem and how to cure it. The PA model essentially is disease-centered. A NP goes to a nursing school and is trained under the nursing model. The nursing model focuses on the patient as a whole. The NP model is patient-centered rather than disease-centered. Philosophically, the medical and nursing models differ tremendously. As a NP, you will have different workplace experiences than that of a PA. Nurse practitioners work in a range of settings. NPs practice in hospitals, clinics, schools, camps, and skilled nursing facilities, and because they often have the authority to diagnose and prescribe independently, they’re also found in nurse practitioner-run clinics, or even establish independent clinics of their own. PAs typically work directly under surgeons and physicians in doctor’s offices and hospitals where they contribute to the work MDs do. This means they aren’t able to strike out on their own to establish an independent practice. Both PAs and NPs can specialize in a great number of areas. Even though PA programs focus on general medical practice, in their careers they often specialize by area of medicine and practice setting, including emergency medicine, surgery, or orthopedics. On the other hand, NP programs all include a focus in a specific patient population group: family and individual across the lifespan, pediatric, adult and geriatric, women’s health, neonatology, or mental health. NPs can also further specialize according to practice setting and disease type. Whether you choose to become an NP or a PA, the requirements are similar in terms of the level of education you’ll need, even though the focus of the education will be considerably different. The PA must attend graduate school and receive a master’s degree, either in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS), Health Science (MHS), or Medical Science (MMSc). The NP attends an advanced practice program, either a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), both of which build off the knowledge Registered Nurses already have. Both professions have state licensing and national certification requirements. The PA must take a general national certification exam known as the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE). NPs, on the other hand, test for primary certification in the patient population that aligns with their graduate studies. If the NP wishes to specialize even further, there are additional certification options in everything from emergency care, oncology, infectious diseases, and immunology to forensic nursing and informatics. Both physician assistants and nurse practitioners must be licensed or registered at the state level, and both participate in continuing education to maintain national certification and state licensure. Depending on how licensing is handled in a given state, an NP would either earn an additional APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) license, or an advanced practice endorsement on their existing RN License. In virtually all cases, NPs would still be required to maintain a Registered Nurse license in good standing in order to practice. PA vs NP Salary PAs and NPs have different salaries, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics. A physician assistant earns a median salary of $101,480 per year. At the top of the salary range is $142,210 annually. Nurse practitioners make an average of $104,610 annually. The high end of the NP range is $140,930 annually. Both career paths have an excellent outlook with both fields growing and creating new job openings.
