How To Invest in 2019 (How ANYONE can be RICH)

16:55
Here’s a step by step guide of How to Invest in 2019 and the basic strategies to begin investing and growing your wealth - enjoy! Add me on Instagram/Snapchat: GPStephan Join the private Real Estate Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/therealestatemillionairemastermind/ Get $50 off for a LIMITED TIME with code ThankYou50 - The Real Estate Agent Academy: Learn how to start and grow your career as a Real Estate Agent to a Six-Figure Income, how to best build your network of clients, expand into luxury markets, and the exact steps I’ve used to grow my business from $0 to over $125 million in sales: https://goo.gl/UFpi4c First, for those just looking for a basic place to put their money, we have the almighty Ally Bank Savings Account that currently offers a 2% interest rate. You can also use a few other high interest bank accounts, like Barclays, Sychrony Bank, or American Express Savings…they all currently offer around a 2% return. Second…and this is arguably the most important part of this entire video…when it comes to investing, especially if you’re JUST starting out, is set up a Roth IRA. This is basically an account that you can put money into, and by the time you’re 59.5, you can pull ALL of your profit completely tax free without paying ANY capitals gains tax. Vanguard has a great option for a Roth IRA if you chose to invest with them. Now third, in terms of WHAT to invest in, my BIGGEST recommendation for MOST people out there is to invest in an index fund with a low expense ratio. When people always ask “how can you get an averaged 8% return”…this is pretty much my advice. Long term, historically, over the last century, the stock market has returned about 8% annually, adjusted for inflation, with dividends re-invested. Ok…number 4…and I figured I’d put this here instead of listing it back to back with the Roth IRA…but that’s setting up a Traditional 401k. This is an account where whatever you contribute is deducted from your total taxable income, and you can grow your investment tax free until you take it out at 59.5. This means that you’ll have MORE money to invest because you’re paying LESS in taxes. The “catch,” however, is that you’ll pay taxes on whatever you take out of your account after the age of 59.5. Now number 5…back to investment options. If you want to, or you’re interested in doing a little more work, you can invest in individual stocks. I personally recommend you try to do this within a Roth IRA or 401k to avoid getting taxed on your profits…but this isn’t required. You can just as easily open an account on Robinhood, invest in individual stocks commission free, and reap some pretty great returns. Now Number 6…my favorite…obviously…is investing in real estate Real Estate. Now unfortunately, this is one of those things that you’ll probably need to work up to. Especially if you’re just starting, unless you have a decent amount of money to already work with, I’d probably recommend saving up or investing elsewhere and then coming back to real estate one you have some capital to work with. Typically, you’re going to need about a 15-20% down payment - which could be a lot of money depending on where you’re planning to invest. But real estate is my favorite for a few reasons: The first if that you get immediate cashflow from renting it out. Second, because of all of the tax deductions, most of that income you make is tax free Third, you’re able to BORROW most of the money to buy real estate and slowly pay that off over time Fourth, you’re building up equity as you pay down the loan - so eventually you’ll own it outright And finally, the property is likely to increase in value over time This is why it’s no surprise that 90% of the world’s millionaires are created through investing in real estate…and I’m absolutely no exception! And finally…number 7…drum roll…is investing into a business. And this is probably where you can get the highest return from just about ANYTHING I’ve mentioned so far, or pretty much ANY other investment out there. Now these are just a few ideas for you to go out and consider…some people might say forex trading, swing trading, etc, the list goes on. But as I mention time and time again, the higher the return, the riskier the investment, and that’s absolutely something to take into consideration. Tax officials Send Notices To Indians For Bitcoin Investments

02:35
Tax officials Send Notices To Indians For Bitcoin Investments. A nationwide survey showed more than $3.5 billion worth of bitcoin transactions have been conducted over a 17-month period, the income tax (I-T) department said. Income Tax (I-T) department has sent tax notices to tens of thousands of people dealing in cryptocurrency after a nationwide survey showed more than $3.5 billion worth of transactions have been conducted over a 17-month period, the department said. Tech-savvy young investors, real estate players and jewellers are among those invested in bitcoin and other virtual currencies, tax officials told Reuters after gathering data from nine exchanges in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Pune. Governments around the world are grappling with how to regulate cryptocurrency trading, and policymakers are expected to discuss the matter at a G20 summit in Argentina in March. The Indian government has issued repeated warnings against digital currency investments, saying these were like "Ponzi schemes" that offer unusually high returns to early investors. But it has not so far imposed curbs on an industry estimated to be adding 200,000 users in India every month. B.R. Balakrishnan, a director general of investigations at the income tax department in the southern state of Karnataka, said notices were sent following the survey to assess the penetration and patterns of virtual currency trade. "We cannot turn a blind eye. It would have been disastrous to wait until the final verdict was out on its legality," he told Reuters. The tax department has asked people dealing in bitcoin and other virtual currencies such as ethereum and ripple to pay tax on capital gains. They have also asked for details about their total holdings and the source of funds in the tax notice seen by Reuters. "We found that investors were not reflecting it on their tax returns and in many cases, the investment was not accounted for," Balakrishnan said.

What is the impact of the new tax bill on the investment landscape?

04:38
12/6/2017 Webcast: The economic and market outlook for 2018 The new tax legislation will result in some modest increase to GDP growth in 2018, but there will be other financial factors that influence the market’s growth as well. Vanguard’s global chief economist explains. Important information: All investing is subject to risk, including the possible loss of the money you invest. There is no guarantee that any particular asset allocation or mix of funds will meet your investment objectives or provide you with a given level of income. Diversification does not ensure a profit or protect against a loss. Past performance is no guarantee of future returns. Investments in bonds are subject to the risk that an issuer will fail to make payments on time and that bond prices will decline because of rising interest rates or negative perceptions of an issuer's ability to make payments. Investments in stocks or bonds issued by non-U.S. companies are subject to risks including country/regional risk and currency risk. These are especially high in emerging markets. This webcast is for educational purposes only. We recommend that you consult a tax or financial advisor about your individual situation.

These are the taxes that come out of your paycheck or maybe you pay quarterly. Either way—it’s a lot of money, so it’s worth learning more about! So here are five things you didn’t know about the individual income tax: Number one: The individual income tax has been the largest source of federal government revenue since 1950—accounting for 47.3 percent of revenue in 2016. Number two: While the name “individual income tax” implies that only individual Americans pay the tax, many small businesses are subject to it as well. A majority of small businesses are set up as “pass-through” entities, which means that business profits are included on the owner’s individual tax sheet and is thus taxed at the individual rate which is higher than the rates big corporations pay. Number three: According to 2016 data from the Tax Policy Center, 44 percent of Americans —or roughly 77 million people— don’t pay any federal income taxes at all. Number four: A combined 2.6 billion man hours is spent every year filling out tax returns. That’s an average of 17 hours per American tax filer. If time really does equal money, we’re paying even more than we thought to Uncle Sam. And lastly number five: According to the most recent data from the Tax Foundation, the top one percent of taxpayers contribute roughly 40 percent of all federal income taxes collected. And the bottom 50 percent of taxpayers were responsible for less than three percent. That’s a lot of taxes paid by very few people. The individual income tax is what makes many of the benefits and programs provided by the federal government possible, but having the rate set too high can have serious consequences on the financial situation of individuals and their families, as well as overall economic growth. Small business tax cuts is not a partisan issue, it’s an American issue. Both Republicans and Democrats should be able to get behind legislation that accelerates job creation, raises wages, and strengthens communities. It’s a win-win policy.

Money and Finance: Crash Course Economics #11

10:36
So, we've been putting off a kind of basic question here. What is money? What is currency? How are the two different. Well, not to give away too much, but money has a few basic functions. It acts as a store of value, a medium of exchange, and as a unit of account. Money isn't just bills and coins. It can be anything that meets these three criteria. In US prisons, apparently, pouches of Mackerel are currency. Yes, mackerel the fish. Paper and coins work as money because they're backed by the government, which is an advantage over mackerel. So, once you've got money, you need finance. We'll talk about borrowing, lending, interest, and stocks and bonds. Also, this episode features a giant zucchini, which Adriene grew in her garden. So that's cool. My TOP 5 Biggest Investing MISTAKES (Stock Market & Money Mistakes To Avoid)

29:12
With 20+ years of stock market experience and a portfolio of 36 dividend-paying stocks, it may seem like investing and personal finance come easy for me. While I've always had a huge passion for investing and I had the incredible fortune of starting young, I have absolutely made my fair share of mistakes over the years. Thankfully, I have learned great lessons from each mistake. Today's video highlights my top 5 stock market (and personal finance) mistakes, with the goal of inspiring others and sharing valuable lessons learned. When I first got started, I had an incredible interest in dividend-paying stocks from the beginning. That has always been my baseline strategy. However, over the years I have experienced my fair share of distractions the wasted time, capital, and focus. In particular, today's video covers: * My experience getting started with stock market investing in the 1990s. * My mistake getting pulled into the "get rich quick" allure of penny stock trading, and the lessons I learned about "making fast money". * My mistake diving into the exciting space of fiber optics during a tech market bubble, and why "buy low, sell high" just doesn't make sense to me. * My mistake falling for a dividend stock yield trap in the mortgage REIT sector, during the height of the subprime mortgage era. This one taught me great lessons about payout ratios and investing in companies that can sustainably pay and increase dividends over the long term. * My experience buying a car way above my means (a BMW M3 Convertible), and how I quickly learned the importance of being frugal in one's personal finances. * My recent mistake buying a dividend paying stock that everyone was talking about. This is why I greatly prefer to generate my own investment ideas! And, this is why I love to diversify my portfolio. At the end of the day, investing is a process. Right around 2008, I truly figured things out and went all in on my dividend strategy. Sure, I had a baseline in dividends all along, but this is when I really "got it" in a big way, and let go of the distractions. I know I'll make more mistakes from time-to-time, but also know that mistakes are just part of the process and should be embraced for their educational value. More than anything, I truly hope you found today's video motivating! Want to learn more about my history as a dividend stock investor? St. Lucia Citizenship by investment: Pros and cons

09:42
Let's talk about St. Lucia Citizenship by investment program and what you can get from it. St. Lucia offers 4 different ways to get your second passport, which is more than other economic citizenship programs out there. The most common route most people take is making a donation, and currently St. Lucia has got the lowest price tag of $100,000 for a single person. The real estate option is coming along, but it will take a while to set it up. The third and interesting route to take to get St. Lucia Citizenship by Investment where you can put money in government bonds for 5 years, after which you get your money back. As for finding out what the fourth option is all about, keep watching the video carefully. Up until recently, this citizenship program was a bit more prohibitive when it comes to the net worth of an individual, but has since then changed course and lowered the criteria a bit. What do you get as a citizen of St. Lucia? Well, to start off, they've got some of the best beaches you can find, which are even rivaling the Cayman Islands in some aspects. In terms of visa-free travel, you get a good reliable travel document, with which you get access to UK and Ireland, as well as to Schengen area, and most of South America. If you're a US citizen, St. Lucia second passport could be a good option for you, especially if you pair it with another good travel document. To learn more about other Caribbean economic citizenship programs, check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58xS9DfcED8&ab_channel=NomadCapitalist This video is a part of "Caribbean citizenship by investment programs", and you'll definitely want to stay tuned for new videos we'll be posting. --- ABOUT NOMAD CAPITALIST Andrew Henderson travels to nearly 30 countries every year to stay up to date on the latest legal strategies for entrepreneurs and investors to pay less tax, grow their money faster, and build their personal freedom. Andrew started Nomad Capitalist to help people like you follow his five magic words: "go where you're treated best". He has personally started foreign companies, opened offshore bank accounts, and obtained multiple second passports. He also learned the hard way that perpetual information seeking is often the biggest barrier to getting the results you want. Many entrepreneurs spend months and even years constantly researching how to pay less in tax or live overseas, but are afraid to make the jump. As a result, they get stuck and keep paying a fortune in taxes and never get the lifestyle they deserve. Nomad Capitalist's Youtube channel is based on Andrew's vision that focusing on the end result, rather than the latest shiny object, is the best way to actually obtain the benefits of the Nomad Capitalist lifestyle. My Lending Club Investment Review (what I did wrong 😭)

22:06
This video shows you all of my LendingClub accounts and what I did wrong and how I plan to fix it with my new LendingClub account. Get started with LendingClub here: ➡️https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/resources/lendingclubinv-youtube-get-started-with-lc.php Do you really want to loan money to family or friends and risk having them not pay you back? 😲 What if you could loan your money to a stranger instead (and make interest)? 🤔🤷 ➡️ That is what peer-to-peer lending is all about. One of the largest peer-to-peer platforms is LendingClub. In this video I will show you how you can use this platform as an additional investing tool. Lending Club is an online peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform that takes the banker out of banking. Investors lend money directly to borrowers through the website, enabling both to benefit from the rate of interest established for each loan. And just as important, the entire transaction happens online, eliminating the need for sometimes embarrassing face-to-face meetings common with bank loans. 😳 It’s a win-win as both the investor and the borrower benefit from the LendingClub process. ➡️ There are two ways to invest with LendingClub. Manual investing is where you browse available loans and choose which ones you’ll invest in one at a time. 💻 But you can also use automated investing in which you set investment criteria, and notes are selected automatically based on that criteria. ⁉️ Like any investment there are some risks. It’s important to realize investments held through LendingClub are not bank assets, and as such they are not insured by the FDIC. Individual loans can go into default, and if they do, you will lose that portion of your investment. In addition, a missed payment by a borrower means you will not get the payment on that loan in that particular month. LendingClub does use “best practices” to collect payments from delinquent borrowers, but some will default nonetheless. You can also hold LendingClub investments as part of an individual retirement account (IRA). You can do this through a LendingClub self-directed IRA. LendingClub will pay the annual IRA fee if you open the account with a minimum of $5,000 and keep that balance level for a minimum of 12 months. Read more about LendingClub on my blog here: https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/lending-club-review-for-investors-and-borrowers/ Learn more about peer to peer lending here: https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/peer-to-peer-lending/ ➡️ Get started with LendingClub here: https://www.goodfinancialcents.com/resources/lendingclubinv-youtube-get-started-with-lc.php Disclosure: I receive compensation from LendingClub for anyone that signs up through my affiliate links.
