[Deleting 158 messages from an iPad 3rd generation using iOS 8.1.3 took about 45 seconds.] Onwards with the demo. Sooooo, Let's Get Started. The first thing to do, is to check the settings of the email account that you’ll be using. Simply open Settings, and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Choose the Email Account that you’ll be working on. Then, tap on Account. And check that discarded messages is moved to the Deleted Mailbox option. And that the Deleted Mailbox, is using the Trash mailbox, on the server of the email account. Furthermore; make sure to tap Done, to save any changes that were made, as shown. Once the Settings has been checked, open the Mail app and select the email account you just checked in Settings. Now for the important parts. Make sure to Mark all unchecked messages as read. Tap edit, then on Mark All and choose Mark as Read. Next, tap on Edit again and Mark the first message. Now, with one hand, place and hold down on the Move option with one finger, as shown. With the other hand, un-mark the first message, then lift your finger off the Move option. If you have performed the shown procedures correctly, you should see the message area turn grey. It is now important that you Do Not Touch any area of the screen, until you see a stack of messages, as shown on this screen shot. It could take sometime to prepare your messages for deletion, especially if you have many messages. Now, once you see the stack of messages, simply Tap on Trash, and instantly, all messages is moved to the Trash. Client forwarding rules is a common method for data breaches in Office 365. What they do is make every email that is received by an Office 365/Exchange mailbox get forwarded to an external party. This setting is available automatically in the Office 365 Enterprise SKUs via Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center but you can also set it up manually in EAC (Exchange Admin Center).

Simple steps to recover outlook e-mail messages that have been permanently deleted or have become stuck in the outbox and after a close and reopen of outlook they have disappeared and no where to be seen. So this normally works best when running outlook in cached mode, which is the default mode. You can check this by Click File - Account Settings - Account Settings. Account Settings in the Backstage view Click the Exchange account, and then click Change. Change command in the Account Settings dialog box Under Offline Settings, check Use Cached Exchange Mode. Use Cached Exchange Mode check box in the Change Account dialog box Exit, and then restart Outlook. So first thing you want to do is grab the handy tool MFCMAPI , download this file online either from codeplex or any website. Run the standalone .exe file , open the mailbox store and navigate to the recoverable items folder. right click and open contents and then right click again to export the emails back to your outlook client or to a .eml or .msg format. Don't forget to check the outbox folder under, top of information store then outbox. hope it helps, feel free to comment if you get stuck

This video is about when your iPhone, iPad iOS Mail app shows unread emails when there are none or when the unread email count is incorrect. http://appletoolbox.com/2015/11/ios-mail-app-shows-unread-emails-when-there-are-none-fix/ Music by bensound.com V-O iOS Mail app shows unread emails when there are none Sonja: Hi, Sonja from Apple ToolBox here with you today. Sonja: I check my email all the time, so when the mail app isn’t working; I am really off my game. Sonja: One of my pet peeves with mail is when it shows unread emails even though there aren’t any! Ugh…. Sonja: What I’m talking about is when you see that red notification above your mail icon that tells you how many emails haven’t been read. Sonja: But then you open your mailbox and what, there aren’t any unread emails. What’s up with that? Sonja: Naturally, I turned to Apple ToolBox for some tips to get my mail back in working order. Sonja: So here are some of the tips that worked for me. Sonja: So first things first. Let’s check to make sure you really don’t have any unread emails. Sonja: To do this, open any browser and check your email accounts through the browser instead of through your mail app. Sonja: Check and see if there are any emails showing up as unread. Use Search to find them. Sonja: If some emails do show up here as unread, mark them as read. Sonja: Now go to the mail app and see if that fixed the problem. Sonja: Hopefully this one worked for you. If not, let’s restart the device and check again. Sonja: If that still doesn’t work, let’s disable the mail settings and restart the mail app. Sonja: Now, go back to Settings and select your mail accounts and enable them Sonja: Exit Settings and open the mail app. Sonja: You might have to perform these steps a couple of times until they stick. Don’t ask me why. Apple quirks, what else can I say? Sonja: If this error happens a lot, consider hiding the unread mail notification Sonja: To hide unread mail notifications, go to Settings, Choose Notifications, and Select Mail. Disable Allow Notifications. Sonja: I hope these tips help you get your mail app working as usual. Sonja: Let us know in the comments if you like this. Also, check out the link in the description to our article for more tips on mail workarounds. Sonja: Thanks for watching this video and remember to subscribe to Apple ToolBox to get all our latest videos. Sonja: I’ll catch up with you later!

In this video, you’ll learn the difference between the two most common incoming email protocols: POP and IMAP. POP, or Post Office Protocol, was created as a simplified way to download and delete messages on a remote email server. The latest version, POP3, is supported by virtually all email clients and servers. Using POP, an internet-connected email client accesses a remote mail server; downloads all email to your local computer; and marks the messages for deletion on the mail server. This means the messages you retrieve using POP can only be viewed in the specific email client, on the specific computer that you downloaded them to. Once downloaded, you cannot access these messages via webmail, or a different email client on another computer. Think of POP like a traditional telephone answering machine that uses tapes. Callers can leave a recorded message on the answering machine, but you can only listen to the message if you are physically in the same room as your answering machine and press play. Until you erase your messages from the tape, they remain available to replay at any time, but only from that answering machine. IMAP, or Internet Message Access Protocol, was specifically designed to free us from the limits of sending and receiving email from a single email client. In contrast to POP, IMAP allows you to log into any internet-connected email client or a webmail site, and view all of the same emails at any time. In a constantly connected world, the ability to send and receive email from both email clients and webmail sites, has made IMAP very popular. With IMAP, your email is stored on your provider’s email servers until you delete it. While this makes email access convenient, some provider’s limit the amount of email you can store on their servers, and may temporarily suspend email services if you exceed this amount. Think of IMAP like your remote digital voicemail. When a caller leaves a message using voicemail, their message is kept on a centralized computer data storage device, and you access the messages using the touch tones on your telephone or mobile. This digital storage in a centralized location means that you can access and listen to voicemails from any telephonic device that can generate touch tones. Your messages remain on your provider’s data storage device until you delete them. However, most providers limit the number of messages you can store, and if you exceed this amount, callers may temporarily not be able to leave you a message. To decide which will work best for you, think about how you like to check your email. If you’re someone who always checks their email from one location, or on only one device, POP will work. However, if you’re someone who checks your email from your laptop, just as frequently as your mobile, and you need to be able to access it no matter where you, then IMAP is a better choice. While POP and IMAP are not the only incoming email server settings, they are the most common. At GoDaddy, the type of incoming email server you have is primarily dependent on the type of email account you have and where you purchased it. So find out which type of incoming email server you’re using – and if it’s not meeting your needs you always have the option to change it.
