06:09
There are thousands of tips and psychological techniques to help you feel happy. But what if our own body had a say in the matter? Here are some findings from neuroscientists — the people who know exactly when and why your brain can give you the feeling of total satisfaction! Other videos you might like: 10 Facts About Brain Prove You’re Capable of Anything https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhnFLjzL6yQ& 12 Smart Psychological Tips You'd Better Learn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Szahr27ReQo& 11 Military Hacks That’ll Make Your Life Easier https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frG12W0MRf8& TIMESTAMPS: Engage in pleasant expectations 0:42 Solve problems one at a time 1:17 Don’t keep things pent up: talk about what bothers you 1:50 Touch and embrace 2:29 Learn, learn, and, once again, learn! 3:12 Play sports 3:44 Always try to get a good sleep 4:40 Learn to say "Thank you" 5:16 SUMMARY: - The process of waiting for something nice, such as food or sex, is similar to the learned salivation response. Our brain experiences pleasure by simply anticipating the fun event. - For every right decision, our brain rewards itself with a dose of neurotransmitters that calm the limbic system and help us once again see the world in a better light. - Advisable not to keep your problems pent up. Whenever you talk about them, your brain triggers the production of serotonin and even manages to find some positive sides to the situation. - To us, humans, social interaction is important. Various forms of physical support, especially touch and embraces, can speed up a person’s recovery from an illness. - For the brain, acquiring new knowledge means permanent adaptation to a changing environment. Using this process, our brain develops, rewarding its own attempts to absorb and process new information with dopamine, the hormone of joy. - Physical activity is stress for the body. As soon as the stress ends, your body gets a reward: a dose of endorphins, released by the pituitary gland. - While we sleep in the dark, our body secretes the hormone melatonin. This hormone slows down all processes in the body, helping it to recover and increasing the level of serotonin in the hypothalamus. - When we say a person, or even fate, for something, we focus ourselves on the positive aspects of life. Pleasant memories trigger serotonin production in the anterior cingulate cortex. 15 CRAZY FUNNY HALLOWEEN PRANKS

15:17
FUNNY HALLOWEEN PRANKS You're gonna love these crazy pranks. But be careful some of them are gonna make your friends swoon or womit! ; ) Between trick-or-treaters and friendly neighbours, your house gets plenty of food traffic during October. With these DIY Halloween decorations, your home will be looking its very best! Whether you summon a Sanderson sister from Hocus Pocus, Hermione Granger from Harry Potter, or one of the witches from The Wizard of Oz, you can't go wrong with a classic witch costume. The spellbinding idea is easy to make, fun to wear (no matter your age), and seriously on-point for the season. Depending on how much time you have, store-bought costumes can be worth the splurge; aisles are bound to be brimming with witch hats, brooms, capes, and more this time of year. But if you're feeling crafty, it's actually quite easy to concoct a magical homemade costume yourself. Get as ambitious as you want when making a witch costume for toddlers or girls. Fashion a witch hat from felt and hot glue, and tie twigs and straw together with twine to craft a broomstick. Tailor the look to the type of witch you want: Now's the chance to show off your wicked personality. Throwing together a last-minute look? Pull a black dress out of the closet, buy inexpensive accessories, and call it a day. You'll be bewitching either way! ; ) TIMESTAMPS: 3:16 Spooky pictures 4:36 Cheesecloth Casper 7:42 Cement pumpkin 13:03 Cinnamon candles ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/5min.crafts/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/5.min.crafts/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/5m_crafts Subscribe to 5-Minute MAGIC: http://bit.ly/2ldditZ Subscribe to 5-Minute Crafts GIRLY: https://goo.gl/fWbJqz Subscribe 5-Minute Crafts KIDS: https://goo.gl/PEuLVt The Bright Side of Youtube: https://goo.gl/rQTJZz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more videos and articles visit: http://www.brightside.me Music by Epidemic Sound: https://www.epidemicsound.com/

20 IMPORTANT RULES EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW

12:15
Remember these simple rules of etiquette, and you'll never get into an awkward situation. Every self-respecting man should know this. Although, of course, this applies to both men and women. You can also teach these rules to your child and you won't be ashamed of your kid. Do you know how to eat pasta correctly, how to drink tea correctly, how to pour wine correctly? I have the simple rules of conduct at the table for you. One of the main rules is to never touch the food with your hands, except for bread and breadsticks, which, in any case, must first be broken off from the common piece, and then put in the mouth. How to stir tea? How to hold a glass correctly? How to cut food on a plate correctly? How to use a napkin correctly? How to fold a napkin after a meal? How to pour sauce correctly? If you come to an interview, then see these tips to get an interview successfully. Do not put the phone on the table. Do not cross your legs. Also look at how to tie a tie - this is a necessary skill. I have many ways to tie a tie. 33 PRICELESS HACKS FOR PARENTS

17:18
EASY SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS Oil and water just don't mix but they do provide for some amazing hands-on science! There’s something very important about oil and water that you probably already know: oil doesn’t mix with water! That explains why oil spills on the ocean float on the surface and why throwing water on a grease fire is just going to make everything worse. Since you realize that oil and water don’t mix and never will (without some chemical help), let’s have some fun with how they repel each other! NOTE: Before you do this, make sure you’re working in the large tub. This effect is dramatic but the science you demonstrate can get lost in the mess you’ll be making! Set one of the identical containers in the tub. Fill the container to the brim with vegetable oil. In an identical second container also in the tub, add several drops of food coloring. The color choice is completely up to you. Fill the container to the brim with water. Set the playing card over the mouth of the container filled with vegetable oil. Hold it firmly in place. Lift the oil container, turn it upside-down, and line it up directly over the water-filled container. Set the oil in place over the container holding the water. Keep the card between the containers to let the liquids settle. Slowly and gently remove the playing card. What happens? The oil and water remain in their respective upper and lower containers. Now, repeat the process. (Basically, this means start over completely.) This time, turn the water container upside down and place it on top of the oil-filled container. Carefully remove the card and watch what happens. The water and oil trade places! If you wait long enough, it will look almost exactly opposite of how it started, too. First of all, you confirmed what you already knew… oil and water do not mix. The molecules of water can’t mix with the molecules of oil. Even if you try to shake up a bottle of half-oil and half-water, the oil just breaks up into smaller droplets, but it doesn’t truly mix with the water. Also, food coloring only mixes with water. It does not color the oil at all. If you see coloring in the oil, those are tiny droplets of water trapped in the oil. When you set the water container above the oil container and remove the card, the water sinks and the oil floats. They trade places! Oil floats on the surface because water is heavier than oil. Scientists say that water is denser than oil. This is why the oil always stays in the top container! 28 AWESOME DIYs TO MAKE WITH YOUR KIDS

13:09
DIYs TO MAKE WITH YOUR KIDS Need to liven up the party space? Just add gigantic confetti balloons. You'll need: Clear 36" balloon Tissue paper in various colors or pre-cut tissue paper confetti Ribbon Hold open the mouth of the balloon and add as much confetti as you would like. It works best if you put the confetti in a bit at a time. This will allow it to have more static and stick to the sides of the balloon. Fill the balloon with helium, knot and attach to ribbon. Shake balloon as needed to spread the confetti evenly. Tip: If using pre-cut tissue confetti, be sure to touch each piece of confetti before putting into balloon. The static electricity helps it stick better to the balloon! PHILOSOPHY - Albert Camus

The only real question of philosophy is whether or not we should commit suicide, said Albert Camus. His thought was constantly rich and provocative (and he dressed unusually well). That's How You Can Confuse Your Math Teacher

09:13
Bright Side is going to teach you a mathematical trick which requires no special preparation. This trick will confuse your math teacher and impress your friends. You’re going to fall in love with math after this even if you haven't been a fan of it before. TIMESTAMPS The art of Math 0:58 The trick 2:13 The trick explained 5:46 Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music SUMMARY -Albert Einstein said that “Pure mathematics is, in its way, the poetry of logical ideas.” In Math, 2 plus 2 always equals 4. Or does it? -Be amazed as you see magic happening in front of you. You’ll see how a number picked at random turns into a number previously saved in a secret folder. -Pick any five-digit number. You take your secret five-digit number and lose the first digit, then add 2 to the last digit. Now ask one of your friends or even your teacher to give you any number. Next, your task is to name a number, which will give 9999 if you add it to the previous number. Then, again, it is your friends’ turn to pick the four digits. Once again, you name the next number. Remember it has to give us 9999 in the end. Now let us put all the numbers together. There you go – we’ve got the number it all started with. Reasons to Remain Single

03:58
The pressure to be in a relationship, and the suggestion that anyone who isn’t in one is weird and pitiable, has very bad consequences for us all, forcing people into choices they shouldn’t necessarily have to make. For gifts and more from The School of Life, visit our online shop: https://goo.gl/Otka03 Download our App: https://goo.gl/g6MK6V FURTHER READING “Anyone who lives alone and manifests no longing to be in a relationship is – in our times – almost automatically (though more or less secretly) viewed as both pitiable and deeply troubled. It’s simply not thought possible to be at once alone and normal. This sets us up for collective catastrophe, for it means that a huge number of people who have no innate wish to live with anyone else, and are at heart deeply ill-suited to doing so, are every year press-ganged and shamed into conjugal life, with disastrous results for all involved...” You can read more on this and other topics on our blog TheBookofLife.org at this link: https://goo.gl/S18TdL MORE SCHOOL OF LIFE Our website has classes, articles and products to help you think and grow: https://goo.gl/agcypC Watch more films on RELATIONSHIPS in our playlist: http://bit.ly/TSOLrelationships Do you speak a different language to English? 23 EASY AND COOL DIY HALLOWEEN DECOR IDEAS

13:54
HALLOWEEN DECOR IDEAS When I was a little girl, my dad had a couple of these cute ghosts on our piano during Halloween. I remember thinking they really floated not knowing that it was starch that held them up. This year, I decided it was time to make some for my friends to experience. I used liquid starch, which is kind of hard to come by. Plus, it’s a lot of money to spend on a ghost or two. So, I found a better and cheaper way to make these. Here’s what you need: Cheesecloth (I just found mine in the baking section of the grocery store and it was about $3. I used the whole package for one ghost. I cut it in half and used 2 layers to make it sturdier) Black felt Cornstarch Water Any kind of “make-shift” stand to support the cheesecloth while it dries out. First, you start by making homemade liquid starch. Pour 2 cups of water into a microwave safe container. Then, add one cup of cornstarch and mix it really well. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in-between, until it gets thick. Mine took about 2 minutes total. This is kind of what you’re going for: Set that aside and let it cool off a little bit. You don’t want it to get cold, though. Meanwhile, set up your “make-shift” stand. You can use cups, balloons, Styrofoam balls. Whatever you can find to make the right shape and size. You just want to make sure you can pull it out from under the cheesecloth once it’s dry. Balloons are nice because you can pop them. I didn’t have any balloons on hand, so here’s what I used: I put some freezer paper on the table so that the ghost would have something to sit on (besides the table) while it dried. Next, I cut the cheesecloth in half. I wanted to make my ghost a little sturdier. Coat each piece of cheesecloth with the cornstarch. It took a little bit of working it in. You want to make sure it is completely coated. Drape the pieces of cheesecloth one at a time over your make-shift stand and make sure you arrange it how you want it. Once it’s dry, you can’t really change anything. Once you’ve got it perfect, allow it to completely dry. Mine took overnight. When it’s stiff, carefully remove the cheesecloth from the mold and glue on two felt eyes. It’s really hard to capture on camera, but the ghost is completely see-through and looks like it’s just floating! A Japanese Method to Develop Creativity in Kids

09:17
Japanese people are known for their intelligence, politeness, and wellness. Why is this nation so unique and different from the rest of the world? It seems we’ve found the answer – they have an incredibly cool education system and unique teaching methods! There is a unique method in Japanese schools for developing creativity in kids. We believe that the whole world needs to adopt it! It’s called “Nameless paints.” In this video, we'll tell you how it works. Watch till the end – there is a small but brilliant bonus for you. As you can see, the spots are also different sizes. - In Japanese schools, students don’t take any exams until they reach grade four (the age of 10). The goal for the first three years of school is not to judge the child’s knowledge, but to establish good manners and to develop their character. - While most schools in the world begin their academic year in September or October, in Japan, it is April that marks the start of the academic and business calendar. The first day of school often coincides with one of the most beautiful natural phenomena — the time of cherry blossom. - In Japanese schools, students have to clean the classrooms, cafeterias, and even toilets all by themselves. Most Japanese schools do not employ janitors or custodians. - All classmates eat in their classroom together with the teacher. This helps build positive teacher-student relationships. - To get into a good junior high school, most Japanese students enter a preparatory school or attend private after-school workshops. - Japanese calligraphy, or Shodo, involves dipping a bamboo brush in ink and using it to write hieroglyphs on rice paper. - While some schools have their attire, traditional Japanese school uniform consists of a military style for boys and a sailor outfit for girls. - At the end of high school, Japanese students have to take an exam that determines their future. A student can choose one college they would like to go to, and that college has a particular score requirement. - Having gone through ‘examination hell,’ Japanese students usually take a little break. In this country, college is often considered the best years of a person’s life. Sometimes, Japanese people call this period a ‘vacation’ before work. 9 Signs You're Much Smarter Than You Think

10:04
Are you smart or average? How would you describe a genius? Einstein’s grandnephew who knows the answer to every test question ever? Or maybe it is a smart person who can solve any problem? We have news for you: it is not just about your genes, grades, or life experience. Scientists have revealed ten signs of a wise person we bet you’ve ignored. TIMESTAMPS You don’t smoke 0:36 You’re not the loud type 1:32 You can find a connection between just about anything 2:34 You're a liberal 3:47 You often ask yourself the big questions 4:48 You’re super loyal 5:54 You have surprising hobbies 6:45 You like to take risks 7:46 You bite your nails 8:54 SUMMARY - Dr. Mark Weiser who works for Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer and his colleagues believe there is a link between smoking and intelligence. They found that the more you smoke, the lower your IQ is. - Super smart people are mostly quiet. They don’t babble, and they don’t often initiate conversations. Why? They are too busy thinking. - Creativity is about drawing lines between what seems to be disconnected from others. It is possible for those who have experienced more things and have analyzed that experience. Doesn’t it sound like the definition of being wise? Those wise people normally come up with the most genius ideas. - One of the signs of being super smart is to be bold enough to accept ideas that move our world forward. - The more you think about the nature and future of everything around you, the more you realize different scenarios are possible. You know that at some point, it could all go wrong, and it’s making you anxious. Being always alert and prepared for whatever may come your way is typical for smart people. - Those who successfully beat the desire to do it and are loyal partners to just one special individual tend to be smarter than those who cheat and sleep around. It is also explained in that intelligent liberals study by evolutionary psychologist Satoshi Kanazawa. - . If you are a computer systems analyst who gets new ideas from origami or a chef who is inspired by furniture design, you are pretty much a creative genius. It has to do with the ability to relate the totally unrelated and being bold enough to try new things and design new concepts. - When we speak of risks, we don’t mean life-threatening stuff like jumping off the roofs and train surfing. Risks are the new challenges and ideas that you gladly try out of curiosity. And, quite a bit of adrenalin, as well. - Nail biting has been largely considered just a nervous habit, yet recent studies show it may be a demonstration of perfectionism. According to psychologists, such body-focused habits as skin picking, pulling your hair or biting your nails help fight boredom and soothe dissatisfaction. Have you found any of these signs in yourself? Or maybe you just realized your friend is much wiser than you thought? Feel free to share in the comments. HOW TO UNDERSTAND YOUR CAT BETTER

09:20
How to understand your cat? 🐱 How to make friends with your cat? 😍 Everyone knows that cats are the most illogical and unpredictable pets. Just try to work out what’s going through that furry little head! It turns out that cats have their own language, and if you learn it there’s a chance you’ll understand them much better. We’ve put together all of the possible cat behaviors to help you find a common language with your pet (well, if it allows you to). Also, we’ve prepared three essential tips that will help you communicate with cats better. HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CAT • How to make your cat trust you Lowering your cat to the ground, make sure its paws have reached the floor. Your cat will trust you and know that it won’t tumble if you let it go. • How to stroke your cat If you sit on the floor with your legs crossed and look at your cat, it will interpret this as a friendly gesture and come up to you to let you stroke it. Also, stretch your hand out in its direction. Your middle finger should be a little lower than the others. The cat will start rubbing its nose or face against your hand. • How to make your cat appear A cat may go and hide and only appear when it’s alone or hears a calm voice. #understandcat #catbehavior #pet TIMESTAMPS Cat's tail 0:52 Cat's eyes 3:47 Cat's interaction with people 4:38 Cat gestures 6:14 Cat language 6:57 How to communicate with your cat better 8:09 MAIN CAT GESTURES • If a cat raises its nose up and throws its head, it’s saying, “I see you.” Cats often make this gesture to people walking past the window. Have you ever noticed it? • A cat might press its ears against its head if it feels scared, worried, or wants to play. They also do this when they are sniffing something that’s interested them. • When a cat sticks its tongue out slightly and licks itself, it’s worried or anxious. CAT LANGUAGE • Cats generally greet people or announce their presence with a short sound. • Lengthy meowing indicates that your cat is very glad to see you. This occurs if you’re away from home for a long time. • A medium-length meow might be a request for water or food. • A long sound (a mix of purring and meowing) is a more insistent request or demand. • A low meow is a complaint or indication of dissatisfaction. Also, it might mean your cat is ready to fight. • A loud sound often indicates an urgent demand (for instance, you cat needs more food). • A purring or vibrating sound indicates a desire for closer contact or attention. Cats purr for various reasons, but most often they do it when they are happy. Now you know how to find a common language with any cat. By the way, are you a cat person or a dog person? Hit the like button for cats, and leave a short comment if you are in love with dogs! Two Reasons Why We're Still Single

08:39
We'd love to hear a bit more about what you want from The School of Life. It would help us so much if you could take our survey now: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/theschooloflife-youtube There are two big reasons why many of us remain single far longer than we might like: we love ourselves far too little. Or we love ourselves far too much. For gifts and more from The School of Life, visit our online shop: https://goo.gl/ZbwS1e Join our mailing list: http://bit.ly/2e0TQNJ Our website has classes, articles and products to help you think and grow: https://goo.gl/cWUdzx Download our App: https://goo.gl/h1prA5 FURTHER READING “The common-sense explanation for long-term singlehood directs the blame firmly outwards, it isolates the problem to one of mechanics: one is still single because one hasn’t, perhaps on account of having moved to a vast and anonymous new city, been invited to enough parties, or because the constant requirement to fly to the Singapore office leaves no time for the right sort of socializing, or because one is holed up in a remote village high in the mountains connected to the more densely populated lowlands only by an irregular bus service. These may be solid enough reasons, but when the problems persist over an extended period, their power to explain our situation weakens. Without anything remotely persecutory or unkind being intended by this, one is forced to cast around for psychological rather than procedural explanations. The problem must lie in our minds rather than in the world.” You can read more on this and other subjects on our blog, here: https://goo.gl/iKTxNh MORE SCHOOL OF LIFE Visit us in person at our London HQ: https://goo.gl/pWmR4L Watch more films on RELATIONSHIPS in our playlist: http://bit.ly/TSOLrelationships You can submit translations and transcripts on all of our videos here: https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_panel?c=UC7IcJI8PUf5Z3zKxnZvTBog&tab=2 Find out how more here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6054623?hl=en-GB SOCIAL MEDIA Feel free to follow us at the links below: Download our App: https://goo.gl/h1prA5 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theschooloflifelondon/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheSchoolOfLife Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theschooloflifelondon/ CREDITS Produced in collaboration with: David Crisp https://vimeo.com/mistercrisp #TheSchoolOfLife

25 BABY CARE SKILLS EVERY NEW PARENT SHOULD MASTER

17:28
HOW TO MAKE A PARENT’S JOB EASIER If you want to teach your kid to be organized you can make an effective visual reminder. You will need a white wall clock, colored markers and a piece of paper. Remove the plastic cover off the clock and divide the day into sections of different colors. Every color will correspond to an activity you need. For example, yellow is for homework, purple for playtime and red for bedtime. On the piece of paper make a list of colors and activities and your kid will know the schedule. Find a place and hang the clock. Remember that the place should be comfortable for kids to see the clock. And tape the list below. Isn’t it a cool idea? Check out cool ideas on how to teach your kid such important things as letters and colors and have a lot of fun. You can make color matching popsicles out of felt and wooden sticks to learn numbers, pattern match cards, pom-pom bunny tails, color matching palette. Being invited to the baby shower is a real problem as you might don’t know what gift to choose or everything is soooo expensive! No need to panic as you can make cute gifts from cheap supplies that will cost you a penny. Moreover, parents will be happy to get useful gifts instead of a third teddy bear. Is Social Media Hurting Your Mental Health? | Bailey Parnell | TEDxRyersonU

14:45
Scrolling through our social media feeds feels like a harmless part of our daily lives. But is it actually as harmless at seems? According to social media expert Bailey Parnell, our growing and unchecked obsession with social media has unintended long term consequences on our mental health. As social media continues to become part of the fabric of modern life – the “digital layer” – abstinence is becoming less of an option. Bailey think it’s high time we learned to practice safe social before it’s too late. What are the common triggers? How are they affecting you over time? How can you create a more positive experience online? Bailey covers this and more in “Is Social Media Hurting Your Mental Health?” Bailey Parnell was recently named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women. She is an award-winning digital marketer, public speaker and businesswoman with a talent for helping people tell better stories. Her work and expertise have been featured on CBC, CTV & in other local Toronto media. Bailey recently founded SkillsCamp, a soft skills training company where they help people develop the essential skills needed for professional success. She also currently works in digital marketing at Ryerson University. Bailey is a frequent public speaker having spoken to more than 10 thousand people. She primarily speaks about social media, personal branding, and media and mental health. She guest lectured her first MBA class at 21-years-old and has been the youngest speaker as multiple academic conferences. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Communication and Culture with a research focus on social media and mental health, and holds an honours BA from the RTA School of Media at Ryerson. 16 Useful Clues To Understand Your Dog Better

05:26
How to understand what your dog wants? Understanding a dog’s body language is essential for building a strong and trustworthy relationship with your four-legged friend. This is really important because dogs are a source of limitless positivity! So, do you know what your pet is trying to tell you in different situations? Our video will help you understand your pet or any other dog. Let’s get started – here are 16 useful clues for you to understand your dog better. Other videos you might like: 12 Harmful Things You Do to Your Dog Without Realizing It https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-G16EX6b8Xg& Why Your Dog Always Follows You Into The Bathroom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGN3_CWKnO8 12 Things Your Dog Hates About You https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwUrEHEUaIw& TIMESTAMPS: The dog’s TAIL 0:33 The dog’s EYES 1:34 The dog's FACE 2:46 The dog’s STANCE 3:36 #yourdog #yourpet #dogs SUMMARY: - If the dog wags his tail slowly, this means he doesn’t understand what’s going on. - A tucked tail is a sign that the dog is scared, afraid of pain, or feels uncomfortable. Most often, the dog tucks his tail between his legs when he is really afraid of something or someone. - When you approach an unfamiliar dog, it’s better to avoid looking directly into his eyes. For dogs, staring at the eyes means aggression. - The ears are standing straight up or inclined forward. The dog is showing you that he’s curious and reacting to some new event in his environment. - The dog yawns. This means your dog is grumpy and nervous. Puppies do this quite often when they’re surrounded by big unfamiliar dogs. - The dog licks his face. The dog does this when he’s stressed or feeling pressure or danger. - The dog rolls over and exposes his belly. The dog is showing that he trusts you and wants to please you. - The dog puts his head on your knee. This means the dog wants to get attention and show that he needs you. - The dog puts his paw on your knee. If the dog does this with a very smug look, he is trying to dominate. - The dog has one front paw raised. This stance means your pet wants to ask you something. - Dogs may shake (like they shake off water after a bath) as a way of relieving tension. Probably, your dog was in stress or met an unpleasant person or dog. THIS MAKEUP ARTIST IS A MASTER OF BODY PAINT ILLUSIONS

15:07
Mirjana Milosevic is a talented makeup artist from Serbia who creates amazing body paint illusions and is known by the nickname Kika. Mirjana's parents said that she learned to draw before she learned to walk. She was drawing every day and on any surface that was available. When Mirjana was 11, her sister's friend asked her to draw a cartoon characters mural on his wall. The result was awesome, and she felt really happy doing it. She grew up in a country that was struck by war and it was a really hard time, so her parents couldn’t arrange for her to go to an artistic school. Mirjana spent all of her free time after school on improving her skills. Three years after graduation from high school, Mirjana gave birth to her son, Danilo, and motherhood gave her the strength she needed to start doing what she’d always wanted to do. Mirjana became the most popular kids’ muralist in her country, but because of an accident with her spine she took a break. Doctors told her this was essential if she wanted to have more children. In 2012, Mirjana gave birth to her second child, Nikola. Nikola inspired her to start doing kids face-painting, and she was very successful in that as well. After that, she completed a basic makeup course and became interested in special effects makeup and body-painting. Now Mirjana is a fantastic body paint artist and creates amazing illusions. She has won a lot of awards for her skills: 2015 – The Festival of Serbian Fantastic Film – The Oskull Award; 2015 - 3rd place at the International Face-Painting Competition in Serbia; 2016 - 1st place and beauty vlogger of the year, NYX Face Awards Serbia competition; 2017 - 1st place at the International Face-Painting Competition in Serbia; Mirjana Kika Milosevic is one of the top ten illusionists in the world. Her makeup illusion videos are very popular on YouTube. My family have lived in this house ever since I was born, so it’s really bizarre that I’d only discover this at the age of 14. I guess my family are quite secretive. My dad is away on business trips a lot and he doesn’t tell us much about what he does, and my mom has always been at home with me and my brothers, but occasionally she does write some articles for magazines and stuff. My mom has a lot of friends, and they are always over at our house, especially when my dad is away. It’s kind of annoying, because she doesn’t hang out with me much, as she’s always with them, and whenever I ask if I can join, she says no because they are talking about adult stuff and I’d find it boring. These women usually come over once or twice a week and they gather in our basement. The basement in our house is awesome! It’s full of comfy seats, like cushions and beanbags and it’s just a nice space to relax in. But yeah, on the nights mom’s friends are over, I’m not allowed down there. It’s weird because they’re always so quiet and I never hear them laughing or anything. One night my curiosity got the better of me and I decided I’d just go down and see what was going on. It was deadly silent and I thought maybe they weren’t even there. I opened the door to the basement as quietly as I could and tip-toed down the stairs. I couldn’t believe it! There was no-one there?! But that didn’t make sense. I’d literally watched them with my own eyes go down into the basement about thirty minutes ago. If they’d left the house I’d have heard the front door. As I looked around the basement, I noticed the bookcase wasn’t in its usual spot. I went up to it and that’s when I noticed it. Behind the bookcase was a door! I just stood there in shock. Had this always been here?! I put my ear up to the door and I heard my mom’s voice!! She was inside some kind of secret room! I suddenly panicked and ran back upstairs to the kitchen. This was too weird! I didn’t mention it to my mom but I couldn’t sleep that night. I kept wondering what she was doing in there! After I was sure my mom was in bed, I went back to the basement and moved the bookcase as quietly as I could. The door was unlocked and as I opened it I held my breath. I had no idea what to expect! As I walked in, I was hit by this strong scent of incense sticks. I turned on the light and just stared. The room wasn’t very big but it was covered in these strange paintings. I don’t even know how to describe them. There were some with angels and some looked terrifying…especially this one of women gathered in a forest around a fire. On the floor was a huge rug and in the middle were a lot of objects I’d never seen before. There were tarot cards and crystals and rocks and a round wooden board with strange symbols on it. I instantly felt uneasy. I shouldn’t have been in there! There was even a long wooden thing that looked like some kind of wand. What was my mom doing down here?! I decided to leave before anything scary happened. The energy in the room didn’t feel right. I left, making sure I left everything as it was before so my mom wouldn’t notice. The next time the women came over was two days later. This was my chance! After about 20 minutes of them being here, I went to the basement and looked through the keyhole into this secret room. I could see my mom sat in the middle of the circle and she had her hands on some kind of crystal ball and her eyes looked all wild and crazy and she was chanting. Some of the women were grinning and some looked shocked. I felt so uncomfortable watching this. Suddenly my mom stopped chanting and turned to one of the women and started telling her things about her life. The woman was crying and saying how it was all true, and that my mom was amazing and the best fortune teller she’d ever been to! My mom is a fortune teller?! But how? How did I not know this? And what does that even mean? Is she some kind of witch? The next thing she did was pick up her wand and start circling the women. One of the women fell onto her knees and started rolling her ❀Credits: Music: http://www.epidemicsound.com/ #MyStoryAnimated

Eat cheese! 8:41 Different cheese types can give you different kinds of dreams 9:06 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - It takes at least one year for it to mature, and you’d need 131 gallons of milk to produce it. - Parmesan was first mentioned in historical documents as early as the 13th and 14th centuries. The famous writer Boccaccio mentioned a “mountain, all of grated Parmesan cheese” in his Decameron in 1348. - It is regulated by law that it can’t leave the manufacturer before 12 months pass by. Then, the Consorzio del Formaggio Parmigiano Reggiano, consisting of cheese experts and master graders, test the cheese and decide if it’s ready to go. - As with any product that gets better with time, the more mature it is, the more expensive it is. - According to The Centre for Retail Research in the UK, cheese is the most stolen food on the planet. - The largest block of cheese ever delivered to the White House was a gift to President Andrew Jackson from dairy farmer Colonel Thomas S. Meacham of Sandy Creek, New York. - There is a power station in the French Alps that works on Beaufort cheese! The electricity made is enough for 1,500 people. - Cheese can be addictive because of the casomorphins contained in cow liver. - The most expensive cheese in the world is…not Parmigiano Reggiano! It’s pule cheese from the milk of Balkan donkeys from Serbia. - Cheese was mentioned in Homer’s Odyssey (dating back to the late 8th century BCE). The cyclops produced and stored goat’s milk cheese on cheese racks in his cave. - Roquefort blue cheese is rich in spermidine, which is good for your heart health and blood pressure. - Cheese can help you sleep better! This was the conclusion of a 2005 study by the British Cheese Board (it really exists!). 10 Traits of Toxic Parents Who Ruin Their Children’s Lives

10:22
Raising children is very difficult and no one has the right to judge someone's particular parenting style. However, some parenting mistakes are more dangerous than others and can seriously damage your child’s health. This video will help you find out what actually affects a child’s psyche and teach those who have toxic parents how they can deal with this issue. When raised by narcissistic parents, children suffer from slowed-down emotional development or none at all, will most likely suffer from depression, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder when they become adults and grow up into an adult that’s either a self-saboteur or a person ready to sacrifice everything to achieve high goals. Children of toxic parents live in constant fear and apprehension. They’ll grow up into teenagers forced to listen to their parents' complaints, adjust to a "complicated situation", put themselves in their parents' shoes, and help, tolerate, and console them. Toxic parents might not see anything wrong whatsoever in telling all the relatives, neighbors, and family friends that deeply sensitive information the child was pressured into disclosing. These types of parents instill an inferiority complex in their kids since they don't wanna see their child try new things and succeed. Their narcissistic self-love generates fear at the thought of their child becoming better, smarter, and more successful than they are. These parents seem to “generously” offer something that their children don’t really need, but any refusal causes resentment. A grown kid starts thinking, "My parents probably just want some company and wanna feel needed." So they accept the help, thank the parents, and offer something in return. But there's no happy ending here because the parents will always remind their children of that "favor" they did for them. Music: https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/music TIMESTAMPS The effect of toxic parenting on kids 0:53 Traits of toxic parents: 10. "Fear me yet love me." 2:01 9. "You need to deal with adult problems, but you still have no rights." 2:34 8. "Be the best but don't forget that you're not special." 3:14 7. "Open up to me but don't be surprised by ridicule." 3:54 6. "You're bad so don't even bother trying to become better." 4:31 5. "You can be successful but only if there’s something in it for me." 5:28 4. "Do exactly what I say, but it’s your fault if you fail." 6:15 3. "You’re such an inconvenience, but don't leave me alone." 6:38 2. "Accept our help but stop exploiting us." 7:11 1. "Trust me, but I’m still gonna go through your stuff." 7:58 How to handle a toxic parent? 8:44 SUMMARY -When raised by narcissistic parents, children don't feel loved, heard, or seen, believe that how they look is more important than who they really are as a person. They don't feel support when they try to develop their true self. -For toxic parents, an emotional attack is synonymous with love and attention. -Kids of toxic parents probably believe that it's specifically their bad behavior that makes their father abuse alcohol to calm himself down. -Even if their kid performs much better than they did once upon a time, all of the child's achievements are taken for granted. -Toxic parents force their children to be sincere and later use the same personal information against the kids. -Toxic parents eagerly discuss their child's failures and flaws. -They enjoy boasting about their kids’ success so that others envy them. Plus, a successful child is a guaranteed better life for parents. -Parents treat their child like an object: they make all the plans and expect their kids to follow along. -Toxic parents never want to let their children go. Yet they’re always pointing out that the house, the money, and the food belongs to them. -The kids turn into prisoners in either case: if they refuse their parents' help, they’re ungrateful brats. If they accept, they’ll always be made to feel indebted. -If you try to restrict access to your personal territory, your parents accuse you of distrust or even hiding something illegal or immoral. -We don’t pick our parents, and we can’t really change them. The only thing we can change is our reaction to their actions. Limit access to your personal territory. Choose your personal interests over those of your parents.
