My $1,000,000 Stock Portfolio: Investing Strategy & Philosophy

27:49
Join Affiliate Marketing Mastery: http://affiliatemarketingmastery.com/training Over the last few years, I’ve been publicly sharing in my Monthly Goals Reports the progress that I’ve made financially in my online businesses, as well as my investing progress to a $1,000,000 stock investment portfolio within my holding company. I’ve had many people ask: “What is your investment strategy and philosophy?” While I’m by no means an “expert” on the topic of investing, I can share what I’ve personally done and what has been working for me. There are many other people that are more qualified and ideal to follow than myself. However, through my transparency, perhaps you can learn from some of my successes and wins, and it can give you a behind-the-scenes look at what a $1,000,000 investment portfolio looks like. Before you watch the video, a few things to note: This isn’t my entire portfolio. This is just within my holding company. I own personal investments as well, that include cash, stocks, bonds and a real estate rental property. When you make a lot of money in your business, you’ll want to create a “holding company” to protect and hold your money, which gives you flexibility when it comes to investing and for tax purposes. I live in Canada and I invest in the TSX (Toronto Stock Exchange). The primary currency I trade in is Canadian dollars and primarily investing in the Canadian economy, as I understand it the most. However, I do have investments in U.S. dollars and outside of Canada as well. I’m no “expert” by any means. I’m just someone that has learned through reading books, having mentors, and through my own trial and error. There are still many things in the investment world that I don’t understand. However, if you can benefit or learn from my transparency then that’s great! ★☆★ VIEW THE BLOG POST: ★☆★ http://projectlifemastery.com/my-1000000-stock-portfolio-investing-strategy-philosophy/ ★☆★ SUBSCRIBE TO ME ON YOUTUBE: ★☆★ http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=projectlifemastery ★☆★ FOLLOW ME BELOW: ★☆★ Blog: http://www.projectlifemastery.com Facebook: http://www.projectlifemastery.com/facebook Twitter: http://www.projectlifemastery.com/twitter Instagram: http://projectlifemastery.com/instagram Snapchat: http://projectlifemastery.com/snapchat Podcast: http://www.projectlifemastery.com/itunes ★☆★ MY PRODUCTS & COURSES: ★☆★ Morning Ritual Mastery: http://www.morningritualmastery.com Kindle Money Mastery: http://www.kmoneymastery.com 24 Hour Book: http://www.24hourbook.com Kindle Optimizer: http://www.koptimizer.com ★☆★ WANT TO BE COACHED BY ME? ★☆★ You can apply for my 1-on-1 and group coaching programs here: http://projectlifemastery.com/coaching ★☆★ RECOMMENDED RESOURCES: ★☆★ http://www.projectlifemastery.com/resources

What is PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT? What does PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT mean?

01:59
What is PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT? What does PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT mean? PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT meaning - PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT definition - PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT explanation. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Portfolio investments are investments in the form of a group (portfolio) of assets, including transactions in equity securities, such as common stock, and debt securities, such as banknotes, bonds, and debentures. Portfolio investments are passive investments, as they do not entail active management or control of the issuing company. Rather, the purpose of the investment is solely financial gain, in contrast to foreign direct investment (FDI), which allows an investor to exercise a certain degree of managerial control over a company. For international transactions, equity investments where the owner holds less than 10% of a company's shares are classified as portfolio investments. These transactions are also referred to as "portfolio flows" and are recorded in the financial account of a country's balance of payments. They are categorized in two major parts: foreign institutional investment and investments by non-residents. According to the Institute of International Finance, portfolio flows arise through the transfer of ownership of securities from one country to another. Portfolio investment covers a range of securities, such as stocks and bonds, as well as other types of investment vehicles. A diversified portfolio helps spread the risk of possible loss because of below-expectations performance of one or a few of them.

How to Make Your Own Investment Portfolio Fund?

18:34
Making your own portfolio is very easy. First choose your stocks that you want to buy. Most investors use fundamentals of the companies to see their future potential for growth. 2. Buy either by small amount or the whole shares. 3. choose a broker that does not charge inactivity fee. Some brokers charge you if you don't trade stocks that often. 4. your broker shows you the average of your investment return. After one year you can and then decide which stocks to change and which one to hold for more years. For more information you can check my training level 16 how to invest in dividend stocks. Eliminating Tobacco Companies From Investment Portfolios | Bronwyn King | TEDxSydney

14:51
Bronwyn King, a Melbourne radiation oncologist, was horrified that she and her colleagues at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre were unknowingly supporting tobacco through their superannuation (pension) investments - an action which came at the expense of their patients, whose lives, and those of their family and friends, were ravaged by the effects of lung cancer. So she decided to do something about it. As Founder and CEO of Tobacco Free Portfolios, Browwyn King's collaborative work with finance industry executives has contributed to over 40% of Australian pension funds implementing tobacco free investment mandates, with (as of June 2017) $2.5 billion tobacco stocks now divested. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx

Passive Investing: The Evidence the Fund Management Industry Would Prefer You Not to See

53:54
http://sensibleinvesting.tv -- the independent voice of passive investing A remarkable 54-minute film featuring some of the world's top economists and academics and demonstrating: * how the claims of active fund managers to be able to beat the market are largely a myth * how costs are the biggest drag on performance - and why active costs more * how passive investing offers the best experience for the vast majority of investors * the benefits of a diversified portfolio in guaranteeing consistent returns * why passive investing is better for your health * why active investing has held sway for so many years.... * ... but why things may be changing * and why passive is the rational, mathematically proven route to investing success. Investing for the future... It's an issue none of can afford to ignore. No one's job is safe these days... How would you cope if you lost yours? We're all living longer too... So are you saving enough to fund 25 years or more of retirement? Can you really afford to pay for your children or grandchildren to go to university - or help them onto the property ladder? And what about all those holidays you promised yourself? We entrust the vast bulk of our investments to fund managers. Here in the UK, according to Her Majesty's Treasury, the industry has more than four TRILLION pounds of investors' money under management. Fund managers invest people's savings wherever they see fit - mainly in equities, or shares in listed companies. They claim to be experts at making our making grow, using their expert knowledge to pick the shares that will outperform the market. But all too often the returns they produce are considerably lower than the average return of a benchmark index like the FTSE 100 - or the S&P 500 in the States. For veteran investment guru John Bogle, the problem is simple. Fund managers just aren't as smart as they like to think they are. As it means trading against the view of numerous market participants with superior information, buying or selling a security is effectively just a bet. So, whilst your fund manager might lead you to believe it's his knowledge or intelligence that enables you to beat the market, he's really no better than a gambler. So, you might be lucky enough to choose the right fund manager. But you could just as easily pick the wrong one. According to the financial services company Bestinvest, there are currently nearly £10 billion of UK investors' money languishing in what it calls dog funds - in other words, funds which have underperperformed their benchmark index for at least three consecutive years. Ultimately, of course, fund managers are businesses. They exist to make money for themselves. They want our business - even if it means persuading us to invest in a fund which they themselves wouldn't want to put their own money in. It's now time to look at what it actually costs us to invest. Fund managers are, of course, businesses. And, like all business, they have overheads. Running a big fund management company doesn't come cheap - esepcially when top managers earn around £2 million a year, including bonuses. And remember, it's you, the customer, who picks up the tab. Ultimately, though, fund managers need to make a profit. In fact they'e making around £10 billion from us every year - and that's regardless of whether or not they manage to produce a profit for us. Part of the challenge is working out exactly what we are being charged. Investors typically use something called the annual Total Expense Ratio, or TER, to compare the cost of investing in different funds. But, the TER excludes dealing commission, stamp duty and other turnover costs that can add considerably to the expense of investing over time. So, apart from those hidden charges, what else are we having to pay? More importantly, what sort of impact do charges have on the value of our investments? And the bad news doesn't stop there. Despite a marked increase in competition, management charges in the UK have been steadily rising over the last ten years. There are some encouraging signs for consumers. The FSA's Retail Distribution Review will require fund managers to be fairer and more transparent when it comes to charges. In the meantime, investors should be on their guard. 3 CRITICAL DIVIDEND INVESTING INSIGHTS (Celebrating 14,000 Dividend Investors Strong)

36:57
PPC Ian is now 14,000 dividend investors strong! In celebration of the milestone, I want to share three critical dividend investing insights in today's video, responses to subscriber questions. I'll even be disclosing a stock pick that I hold in my personal stock portfolio. Insight 1: Yes, I Own a Railroad Company In My Stock Portfolio I received this question a long time ago, so I'm excited to finally provide a response. Learn all about my experience buying Norfolk Southern (NSC), a holding in my personal stock portfolio. With a 1.78% current yield, the starting dividend on this stock is never too high. That said, my yield on cost is up to 4.3% after holding for five years. And, I have experienced 152% capital appreciation on my initial purchase tranche. Learn why I like this industry, how it provides diversification to my stock portfolio, and why there are incredible barriers to entry. Insight 2: I Believe Home Ownership Can Be An Asset, Not A Liability In a recent video, I shared my experiences with homeownership during the Great Recession. It was an interesting time when I sold the lion share of my dividend stock portfolio to help fund the down payment for our first home. Today's video builds and shares why I disagree with a lot of the pundits out there who say homes are liabilities. Learn how a home can be an asset if one purchases in the right market at the right time. And, applies the right philosophy to the situation. I'm excited to provide a unique perspective here! Also, learn about some unique considerations for dividend growth investors who aspire to purchase homes. Insight 3: I Do Not Rebalance My Portfolio (In A Traditional Way, At Least) Learn all about the concept of portfolio rebalancing and why people do it. Learn why I do not rebalance my dividend stock portfolio in a traditional way because: * I like to take a lazy investing approach * I like to postpone taxable events that can be triggered by selling (and realizing capital appreciation) * I really don't like cutting my winners short (I like to let them run) I do, however, have a few indirect ways of rebalancing my portfolio, namely choosing not to reinvest dividends and choosing not to deploy more capital to certain positions. 6 Steps To Building A Successful Investment Portfolio

04:15
http://www.smartfinancialadvice.com.au/where-should-you-invest-your-money/ 6 Steps To Building A Successful Investment Portfolio Investing can be confusing. There is a seemingly endless array of investment options available, and new ones being introduced all the time. So how do you choose what to invest in? And how do you build an effective investment plan to safely and systematically build long-term wealth? Let's have a look at a list of some of the things you can invest in: • Cash in the bank • Government bonds • Overseas bonds • Corporate bonds • Australian shares • Overseas shares • Large cap shares • Growth shares • Income shares • Value shares • Resources shares • Industrial shares • Contracts for difference • Warrants • Options • Exchange traded funds • Listed investment companies • Separately managed accounts • Wrap accounts • Direct shares • Managed funds • Index funds • Active funds • Residential property • Commercial property • Property development • Gold • Silver • Commodities • Wine • Vintage cars • Art • Other collectibles • Forex trading • Share trading • Futures trading And the list just goes on and on and on... With such a long list of different types of investments it can become very confusing. How do you compare them all, research them, analyse them and pick which ones to include as part of your investment portfolio? And how do you get an excellent financial outcome while managing and minimising the level of risk? When we start to look closer at all of the investment options available we can begin to see that there are really four main categories or areas that we can allocate money to when thinking about what investments to purchase. These include: • Cash • Fixed Interest • Property • Shares This makes it a lot easier to start to make some decisions about where to invest, because instead of looking at hundreds of options we can now just focus on these four key areas. What we can then do is decide whether or not we want to include those investment options in our investment portfolio. Do you want to include all four areas or just some of those areas? The next thing to consider is how much you are going to allocate to each area. If you have chosen just one area to invest in this decision is very easy, you allocate all of your money to that investment option. If you are investing in more than one area you can allocate a portion of your money to each of your chosen investment options. Once you've decided which areas you want to invest in and how much you'll allocate to each area you can then think about how you'll invest in each area. There are really only two ways to make money from investing, you either get a return from the income you receive (such as interest, rent or dividends) or you get a return from capital growth (the increase in value of the investment between the time you buy it and the time you sell it). By choosing the type of return you want -- either income or capital growth -- that will guide you towards the specific investments to purchase. For example some shares pay higher dividends than others so if you are including shares in your investment portfolio and you want income from your shares you would be looking for shares that pay a good dividend. So to summarise, the way to simplify your decisions about where to invest is to: 1. Start with a list of all of the available investment options 2. Categorise those into key areas -- cash, fixed interest, property, shares 3. Decide which areas you want to include in your portfolio 4. Work out how much of money you will allocate to each area 5. Choose the type of return you want -- income or capital growth 6. Purchase investments in the areas you have chosen that provide the type of return you want If you'd like to talk to us further about this I'd encourage you to get in contact with us. What is FOREIGN PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT? What does FOREIGN PORTFOLIO INVESTMENT mean?

SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ A portfolio investment is a grouping of assets such as stocks, bonds, and cash equivalents. Portfolio investments are held directly by an investor or managed by financial professionals. In economics, foreign portfolio investment is the entry of funds into a country where foreigners deposit money in a country's bank or make purchases in the country’s stock and bond markets, sometimes for speculation. Portfolio investments typically involve transactions in securities that are highly liquid, i.e. they can be bought and sold very quickly. A portfolio investment is an investment made by an investor who is not involved in the management of a company. This is in contrast to direct investment, which allows an investor to exercise a certain degree of managerial control over a company. Equity investments where the owner holds less than 10% of a company's shares are classified as portfolio investment. These transactions are also referred to as "portfolio flows" and are recorded in the financial account of a country's balance of payments. According to the Institute of International Finance, portfolio flows arise through the transfer of ownership of securities from one country to another. Foreign portfolio investment is positively influenced by high rates of return and reduction of risk through geographic diversification. The return on foreign portfolio investment is normally in the form of interest payments or non-voting dividends.

This tutorial models annual investments in an S&P 500-like environment. No add-ins are used; 100% pure Excel. Monte Carlo simulation in Excel typically makes use of add-in software for Excel like Palisades Decision Suite or Oracle's Crystal Ball, but we can do a reasonable job modeling Monte Carlo Simulation with Excel, using just Excel. Monte Carlo Simulation is one of the most highly used and important numerical techniques used in finance. A dynamic histogram can be added to further characterize a return profile. Portfolios’ Diversity Helps Resist Financial Adversity - Right on the Money - Part 2 of 5

10:34
Sub Headline: Diversification blends holdings, asset types and risk tolerance. Synopsis: A portfolio’s variety of holdings may not make it diverse. Multiple holdings within a similar sector can create an imbalance susceptible to declines in value. True diversification is characterized by a combination of holdings and asset types across sectors and industries, within one’s risk tolerance. Content: While cultural diversity is a popular topic today, retirement advisers have been advocating financial diversity for generations. In the financial and retirement planning industry, diversification goes beyond the age-old adage of not having all your eggs in one basket; it means decoupling the types of assets within a portfolio that can universally suffer from market volatility. Achieving a diverse portfolio begins with understanding one’s tolerance for risk. This can be found by completing a brief a survey that assesses different scenarios and the collective responses. Risk tolerance tests are available through qualified financial and retirement planners, and cover different circumstances, including one’s comfort level with alternate types of investments; the reaction to an unexpected event, like a layoff; the emotions associated with the word “risk”; and how a surprise inheritance or windfall would be managed. An indexed score is the result, and considers gender, age, marital status, education and income. Risk-averse investors’ portfolios would likely include positions in multiple conservative companies, stocks or mutual funds. These include everyday products like food or household goods that are purchased broadly and repetitively. Risk-prone investors may favor more speculative companies whose performance may be cyclical, such as the technology or science sectors. Diversification can mean different things to different generations. For early-stage investors, it can mean ownership in several companies. For retirement-minded investors, it can mean committing a portion of their portfolio to “safe-money” alternatives. An example is a fixed index annuity that has no direct correlation to stock market performance, and can be relied upon to help cover ongoing expenses after one’s days of active earning have ended. To be financially diverse is to spread resources not only among a variety of companies and instruments (stocks, bonds, funds and insurance products), but also among a range of risk levels, including some where there’s no risk at all. Syndicated financial columnist Steve Savant interviews top retirement specialists in their field of expertise. This segment features retirement specialists Jessica Boehm and Frank Cannon. Right on the Money is a financial talk show distributed in daily video press releases to over 280 media outlets and social media networks. (www.rightonthemoneyshow.com) https://youtu.be/tpNRVUK_VKo
