E-mini S&P Futures Trading - Up $1.3 Million then limit down #yolotrading - August 24, 2015

19:11
Some crazy Lock limit Down Action that I haven't witnessed since the peak of the Financial Crisis. Contrary to what most people think, markets drop due to no bid. Not massive selling. Knowing things like this can change the way you look at the market and understand it better. I debated whether to post this or not but decided to go ahead, hoping that you guys might find a lesson to be learned here. I also want to take the time to announce my retirement from full-time trading. It's been an amazing 8 years for me. I've made enough money to take care of my family for generations to come, it's been more than I ever hoped for. This will likely be my last trading video. I don't know what I'm going to do now except whatever I want. Enjoying life is my priority now. To avoid any confusion, I had planned to retire earlier this year and is not due to this trade. Thank you all, I wish you the best. Tracklist 1. Alison Wonderland - Run (Jayceeoh & B-Sides Remix) 2. Hermitude - The Buzz feat. Mataya & Young Trapz 3. Trade Strategies: How To Trade The Open-Drive Strategy | Axia Futures

12:29
Learn more about our 8-Week Career Trading Course and get 3 Mentored Trading Lessons FREE: https://AxiaFutures.com/lp/Career-Trading-Course/ The open drive trading strategy is created by a big participant needing to get a large order filled, and executing that order from the start of the open. Brannigan explains that the open drive generally has a few identifying characteristics and opportunities. The first thing to note is that it is common to see a bounce after the market finds a pocket of liquidity. Following the bounce, we tend to see a second wave for a continuation and to go with the flow. This can be seen in the given example in the S&P500 from 14.30 GMT on 25 June 2018. The market profile then shows a series of one time-framing periods without a previous high being taken out, and continued selling throughout the day. We also don't see the extreme of the initial balance being taken out. Generally, you should go with the flow on these day types. The footprint also reveals and highlights where liquidity was found before being absorbed and consumed before the large time-frame participant continued to initiate lower prices. Combining these different identifiers helps us learn to recognise an open drive, and better execute it when trading leveraged positions. New Ninjatrader Brokerage Reviews: Is The Futures Industry Ready?

10:43
The New NinjaTrader Brokerage Reviews: http://thedaytradingacademy.com/ninjatrader-brokerage-reviews/ A review of the new Ninja Trader Brokerage. Ninja Trader and Mirus Futures have officially merged to create a platform and brokerage combination. Very similar to Tradestation. Now NinjaTrader and the new NT brokerage will offer the most competitive commissions in the industry. This is absolutely unprecedented and they have now become the most competitive emini futures brokerage in the industry. Mirus futures has always been a good broker to have when it came to futures brokerages. There was a bit of a hiccup when there was a situation with the Zen Fire feed at the beginning of this year. Now however, they are backed up by one of the largest charting platforms in the world for futures. NinjaTrader has also started to expand to other markets included Brazil to be able to trade local markets. This is a tremendous advantage to be able to access local markets. We have been looking to start developing the Congressive Trading Strategy for other markets overseas including the Brazilian BOVESPA exchange. Many of us at DTA have had accounts with Mirus for quite some time. Now with the new lower commissions they will become the cheapest emini brokerage in the industry. There will be new reviews coming out for the NinjaTrader Brokerage shortly as more and more people will look to take advantage of the new discounted rates. We have been using NinjaTrader and Mirus for quite some times. Our new Ninja Trader Brokerage reviews the new commission structure. NinjaTrader is already known to be one of the foremost platforms to use in the industry. Mirus Futures has already been a great broker. To team up and provide the combined services allows Ninja Trader to officially compete against Tradestation. If you are a new trader we would highly recommend starting with NinjaTrader because you will be able to save a considerable amount of money. We show in the video that you will be able to save between $2,000 to $3,000 in commissions. This is compared to Tradestation which turns out to be much more expensive especially with their monthly fees. You have to have a brokerage account with minimum $5,000 in funds in order to avoid the extra charges. Even with a brokerage account a trader will have to pay $99 a month for the platform. One must also consider that Tradestation charges data fees. The new Ninja Trader Brokerage and new 8.0 platform will be impressive and provide a formidable trading platform for years to come. Bond Futures: How to Trade Bond Futures | Bond Futures Trading Strategies tutorial - Jonathan Rose

53:13
Let me show the Correct Way to Trade Bond Futures Learn how to Trade Bond Futures. DONT MISS YOUR FREE WEEK https://goo.gl/RXhLnY .This is Bond Futures Trading Strategies tutorial. What is Bond Futures? Although the stock market is the first place in which many people think to invest, the U.S. Treasury bond markets arguably have the greatest impact on the economy and are watched the world over. Unfortunately, just because they are influential, doesn't make them any easier to understand, and they can be downright bewildering to the uninitiated. At the most basic level, a bond is a loan. Just as people obtain a loan from the bank, governments and companies borrow money from citizens in the form of bonds. A bond really is nothing more than a loan issued by you, the investor, to the government or company, the issuer. For the privilege of using your money, the bond issuer pays something extra in the form of interest payments that are made at a predetermined rate and schedule. The interest rate often is referred to as the coupon, and the date on which the issuer must repay the amount borrowed, or face value, is called the maturity date. One wrinkle in the equation, though, is that not all debt is created equal with some issuers being more likely to default on their obligation. As such, credit rating agencies evaluate companies and governments to give them a grade on how likely they are to repay the debt (see "Good, better, best"). Benji Baily and Delmar King, fixed income investment managers at Everence Financial, say ratings generally can be classified as investment grade or junk. "Anything that's considered to be an investment grade, you would have a fairly high probability that you're going to get your money back at maturity," King says. "Of course, the lower you go down the credit spectrum, the more risk there is of default and the possibility that you could have losses. Therefore, the lower the security grade you have, the more yield compensation you should have for taking that default risk." So, if you purchased a 30-year U.S. Treasury bond (currently AA+ from S&P and AAA from Moody's and Fitch) for $100,000 with a coupon rate of 6%, then you could expect to receive $6,000 a year for the duration of the bond and then receive the face value of $100,000 back. At least, that's how a bond would work if you held it to maturity. Rather than hold a bond to maturity, they also can be traded. But, as a bond is traded, interest rates can change, so the overall value of the bond can change. "If you bought a bond that has a 10% coupon and the rest of the market is fine with owning a 1% coupon, then someone is going to love to have that 10% coupon until maturity," Baily says. "Conversely, if you have a 1% bond and everyone else is expecting that the market in general will be at 10%, then you're going to need to pay someone a lot of money to take that 1% bond instead of buying a new 10% bond." Because coupon rates generally are fixed, to adjust for future expectations the price of the bond or note has to move up or down. If yields, the interest or dividends received on a security, go up, the price will fall to accommodate that higher yield; if yields go down, then price has to go up. 2014 London Summit - The Future of Trading

01:02:48
The digital revolution has had a profound effect on the world's capital markets. Open networks are decentralizing and democratizing them, increasing efficiency, transparency and access. Speed is key in an ultraconnected world, with transactions occurring in milliseconds and financial institutions willing to invest billions of dollars in high-tech platforms and strategies to outperform and outcompete. And yet, is it too much? High-frequency trading now makes up roughly 50 percent of exchange volume, up from less than 10 percent in the early 2000s. Trading in dark pools now hovers near 40 percent of stock-trading volume, raising concerns about pricing and risk among investors and regulators. How much benefit does the growth in high-frequency and off-exchange trading bring to the overall market? Has speed ultimately put retail investors at a disadvantage, and are they receiving the best executions? Is there a need for reform and, if so, how should regulators respond? Can the industry establish best practices in this area? Philip Allison, CEO, KCG Europe Ltd. The comment was from Merkel's political party and said that they would be encouraging the ECB to end their bond buying programme. While Joe quickly executed with size, the market's initial reaction ultimately reversed and caught a lot of traders off-side who did not get best prices. Joe then shows us how he read the order flow in correlated markets to gauge the strength of the comment, and how he was able to minimize losses by trading out of his position on the price ladder. Buy the Price Ladder & Order Flow Trading Course here: https://AxiaFutures.com/course/Trading-with-Order-Flow/?af_id=6 Adam reviews the fast reaction of an elite Axia trader who netted over €85K by executing trades on the price ladder in response to Brexit comments - Wednesday 5th of September, 2pm UK time. The comment was from an unknown source stating that England and Germany had abandoned key Brexit demands. The trader quickly looked to execute trades in GBPUSD and 10 Year Gilt futures. This carried through into EURUSD until both currencies catalyzed an overall dollar move and carried through into gold futures. The trader ultimately sold just under 200 lots in the German 10 Year Bund, which acted as a lagging market, and was confident to be more conservative with scaling out of his position as other markets continued to hold their extremes and hinted at the potential for further downside in bonds. Trading Psychology: How To Develop The Skill of Discipline | Axia Futures

06:21
Watch the full video on a free two week trial at https://www.AxiaFutures.com/ This trading psychology session looks at why so many traders fail in the business of trading, even though they started out with so much enthusiasm. At the heart of it, Brannigan explains that it comes down to discipline, as that is what ensures long-run success. Discipline is a skill that needs to be developed over time. To develop the skill, you must know what work and steps are required. Brannigan's list can be summarised into the following 8 points: 1. Routine 2. Preparation 3. Organisation 4. Execution 5. Focus 6. Dedication / Motivation 7. Consistency 8. Learning from Errors If you turn these 8 points into check boxes to tick off each day, within 6 months you will notice the differences and find yourself to be a better trader. Trading Psychology: How To Develop the Skill of Consistency | Axia Futures

11:25
Watch the full video on a free two week trial at https://www.AxiaFutures.com/ What is required to become consistent in your trading? In this trading psychology session Brannigan shares 6 steps to develop the skill of consistency. When it comes to trading, consistency isn't a noun, it's a verb. Therefore it's an active pursuit in order to learn and adopt this as a skill. Further, Bran argues that is likely the most important aspect of trading, and even life. Bran ends the session by sharing an example of how these steps show up in his debrief template process where he monitors 4 performance metrics. The following is a summary of Bran's 6 Steps to becoming consistent in trading: 1. Understand the why of consistency (vision, big picture) 2. Time-scale (habit), miss (start again) 3. Template (debrief) 4. Precise approach, varying intensity (run, swim, cycle / Bund / Spoo / Oil) 5. Motivation to stick to plan 6. The setup was formed with a late move lower in the S&P on Friday afternoon. During the overnight session before Monday's cash session, the market began to grind higher while it was visible that VPOC had been shifted to low of day by Friday's close. This signaled a lot of shorts caught positioned at the low. With all those who went short and did't get the continuation, as the market started to grind back up, their covering along with new long positions added to the grind higher and net long positioning in the overnight session. The trade setup then took place with seeing the cash open make a quick drive higher to take out the overnight high. However, as the market failed to a sustain above the overnight high, it revealed the end of the short squeeze and an opportunity to enter new shorts. Two ways of spotting this was an inside 15 minute candle and a move back within the overnight range to sell through the open. The technical entry for accessing the trade with controlled risk was the first dip in delta while breaking through a minor trading range. Futures Market Explained

Farmers use various tools to control the many risks in agriculture. Watching the weather influences when they plant or harvest. Buying crop insurance and selecting farm bill safety net programs helps protect them from crop devastation. But they can also manage some of the threat posed by volatile market prices by participating in the futures market. Farmers can get a feel for how that works if they play Commodity Classic, an online teaching tool that uses fictitious bushels of grain in a fake futures market. But here at Harvest Public Media, we wanted to better understand how the futures market helps both producers and users of a major commodity, such as corn. And how the benefits trickle down to regular food consumers. Here’s what we learned.

Trading Psychology: Profiting From Herd Psychology in Financial Markets | Axia Futures

07:44
Watch the full video on a free two week trial at https://www.AxiaFutures.com/ Alex leads us through a mentored trading psychology session where he recounts the more subtle types of information available that give insight into herd psychology and how to profit from it. On the day of his example almost every trader was wanting to sell the low in the Bund which would look ready to aggressively move lower, but suddenly have offers pulled to bid back up. There was frustration on the floor and the order flow did not indicate the true type of momentum price action you should typically see for a continuation. Combined with the market having formed an anomaly-type volume-stop-hunt event, Alex read the feeling the floor, his own mental thought patterns, and experience in similar market environments to buy the Bund, and ultimately profited from the move that later followed. Recording the details of your day after every market close helps you to internalize and recognize these moments better and better later down the road in your trading career, as often the trading session that follows the previous day creates the strategy and backdrop for powerful opportunities. Trade Strategies: How To Trade The Outside Candle Day | Axia Futures

10:06
Watch the full video on a free two week trial at https://www.AxiaFutures.com/ In this trader training session Brannigan trades the outside candle trading strategy. It's an easy setup to identify but the key is in the execution. The most important is to understand from this is how the trade strategy is formed so that you can use that understanding to discern good future trading strategies from the bad ones. What makes for a good outside candle setup is that it has high volume, range expansion and continuation. Three additional ingredients make the formation: 1. Initiative 2. Responsiveness 3. Initiative These overlap to create a powerful setup, especially when in the ideal trade location for the outside candle - at a turning point. Timing is key when it comes to the trade execution, as well as identifying absorption and continuation. The type of order flow price action that goes well with this pattern is similar to a V-reversal. What you do not want to see is a significant retrace. To elaborate on this strategy, Brannigan uses an example of from the dollar index. Gain access to more than 50 streams like this per month with professional traders. Word of the Day: Futures Exchange

03:41
Watch more @ http://www.youtube.com/CapitalAccount http://twitter.com/laurenlyster http://twitter.com/coveringdelta A futures exchange is a central financial exchange where people can trade futures contracts and other derivatives, which are financial instruments whose values are derived from the price movement of the underlying asset (stocks, commodities, etc.). Futures exchanges have been around for millennia, with one of the earliest known futures markets having developed in pre-socratic Greece as far back as 600 B.C -- or thereabouts -- by Thales of Miletus, who developed the brilliant idea of securing the future use of olive presses in Miletus prior to the olive harvest for a fixed price, with the expectation that a bountiful harvest would boost demand for these presses, allowing him to sell back his options contracts to other Greeks at a higher price. Legend has it that he eventually bought all the presses with the proceeds from his financial wizardry, just to show his fellow Milesians how smart he was. In more recent times, we saw the rise of futures markets here in the United States, specifically in Chicago, where proximity to farmland and agribusiness made it a logical choice. Although markets for hedging against fluctuations in price caused by unforeseeable gluts or shortages in crop yields already existed, these markets where highly illiquid, nontransparent, and contracts were often not honored by counterparts (hmmm sounds kinda familiar). Therefore, one of the reasons for running such transactions through a regulated exchange is to clear the trades and provide a central counterparty that will extend a guarantee that the trade will be settled as originally intended. Eventually, the Chicago Board of Trade was created in 1848 to help buyers and sellers of these derivatives hedge their positions on a regulated exchange. It was later bought out by the CME, whose Chairman Terrence Duffy, our audience should know all too well...Of course, the recent experience of MF Global's customer's with segregated trading accounts has thrown the entire premise of having such regulated markets into question, since one of the major points of paying the premium to run transactions through an exchange is in order to mitigate, if not eliminate, counterparty risk.

Trade Strategies: Fibonacci Retracements Off of News Events | Axia Futures

06:31
Watch the full video on a free two week trial at https://www.AxiaFutures.com/ Do Fibonacci retracements work in short-term trading? If so, when and how should you use them? This trade strategy session looks at two example in the German 10 Year Bund of when Fibonacci retracements worked, and when they didn't, and how to execute trades using them. The catalyst for both trades were both fundamental news data causing fast, clear directional moves. Richard notes that the key is to first understand the trader herd mentality of anyone already in the move wanting to trail their stop, add into the trade, or enter, provided they believe that the news is sufficient to continue the move. Start by drawing a Fibonacci retracement from the start of the move to the opposite extreme. Then mark a fib level that coincides with other levels, such as a previous lows or highs. This confluence gives two or more reasons for why traders will be executing around that level and offers you an entry point with a relatively tight stop loss. One advantage of using Fibs in confluence with other levels is that it forces you to be patient in waiting for an entry and not chasing the market. Trading Psychology: Why Top Traders Embrace Pressure | Axia Futures

05:20
Watch the full video on a free two week trial at https://www.AxiaFutures.com/ In this trader training session, Darren speaks about the trading psychology of performing under pressure. Proprietary trading often involves being in uncomfortable situations that result in the mind locking up. Similar to being in a high pressure situation in a sports match, such as tennis, you have to perform in front of people with something important on the line. It's always better if you learn to deal with pressure during your training. The answer is to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Don't try push negative emotions away. Rather sit in it and focus on your breathing and other things within your control. Embrace the uncertainty and fact that there's something important on the line. The sooner you do this the more adept you will become in thriving under high pressure situations. To take it a step further, actively seek out smaller things in life that create pressure and learn to get comfortable in those areas too. Trade Strategies: A Formula for Creating Day Trading Hypotheses | Axia Futures

17:49
Watch the full video on a free two week trial at https://www.AxiaFutures.com/ The purpose of creating day trading hypotheses is to order your day so you find the right opportunities and times to trade. The steps to generating your own day trading hypotheses are: 1. Identify areas where a market move is expected to begin 2. Determine the type of move and trade - i.e. breakout 3. Identify what would negate the trade 4. Create multiple alternate hypotheses To do the above, you'll also need to systematically gather objective facts upon which you will create your day trading hypothesis. For example: - The previous day's day-type - Key levels - Current range sizes - Direction of the market - Market profile initial balance type - The open in relation to the close - And more The Charting Process: - Get context and your general idea from large time frames such as the daily chart, market profile, and 60min chart - Determine your execution points with shorter time frames, such as a 15, 5 and 1 minute chart Richard then then looks at an example in the German 10 Year Bund. He notes: the trading ranges on the hourly chart, a potential double bottom, the open appearing on the previous close, a market profile selling tail, a b-shape profile, a close at VPOC, and more. He uses this information to create the following hypotheses: Hypothesis #1 - break 42 and a slow move higher Hypothesis #2 - holds below 27 for a break of 18 and momentum lower Hypothesis #3 - fails below 18 and back into range Finally we look at how the day actually played out. This is a powerful process to learn and perfect, and always remember to keep updating your hypotheses as the day progresses. Trading Oil Futures

04:22
http://profitabletradingtips.com/trading-investing/trading-oil-futures Trading Oil Futures By www.ProfitableTradingTips.com Oil futures trading has been active as prices have fallen over the last months. Factors driving oil prices down are the continuing US oil fracking boom, continued high OPEC production and slowing economies in Japan, Europe and China. The US Federal Reserve says that shale production is steady despite the global excess and the OPEC decision to keep production high was recently in the news. "In early November, oil and gas exploration activity decreased in North Dakota and increased in Montana relative to a month earlier; production remained at record levels," the Fed said. "Despite recent declines in oil prices, officials in North Dakota expect oil production to continue increasing over the next two years." Oil prices have declined since June and touched a five-year low early this week, reflecting in part slowing global economic growth and increased domestic production in the United States. Oil prices respond to supply and demand and while production remains high, demand is falling due to economic slowdowns across the globe. Trading oil futures depends on careful analysis of these fundamentals as well as the sentiment of the market. With traders expecting that the market has overshot many have bet on a recovery of oil prices. Up and Down Markets tend to be inefficient and successful traders take advantage of that fact. Trading oil futures is no different. Morningstar notes that oil futures markets remain jittery despite a recent small up tic. Crude-oil futures rose in Asian trade Wednesday but analysts expect prices to remain volatile and market sentiment is still largely bearish. On the New York Mercantile Exchange, light, sweet crude futures for delivery in January (CLF5) traded at $67.10 a barrel, up $0.35, or 0.5% in the Globex electronic session. January Brent crude on London's ICE Futures exchange rose $0.29, or 0.4%, to $70.72 a barrel. "If the market is looking to U.S. shale for a [price] floor, Citi thinks that floor is nearer to $50 a barrel [for] WTI than the $90 a barrel level frequently cited by senior Saudis in recent weeks," Edward Morse, head of commodities research at Citigroup, said in a report. If the Citi analysis is correct there is a greater downside to the oil market than many thought. Who Suffers Many US companies have invested heavily in looking for shale oil and using high tech fracking technology to extract it. These companies carry a high debt load. So long as they were getting $100 a barrel many could profit but as prices fall there are oil companies in trouble. Some could simply fold and quit producing oil. For those trading oil futures this could mean lower supply and higher prices. MarketWatch refers to the survival of the fittest in the oil fields. Companies are dusting off contingency plans that may have seemed far-fetched when oil was trading above $100 a barrel in the summer. Oil-well and land portfolios are coming under renewed scrutiny as they decide where to wait it out and where to continue production. Since it costs Saudi Arabia and others about half what it costs in the USA to produce a barrel of oil this may turn into a game of chicken that the Middle East will eventually win. For the person trading oil futures the issue is deciding when oil will have bottomed out and starts to rise. http://youtu.be/MbSxNlG7aqM

Get the Market Profile Trading Course here: https://axiafutures.com/course/the-art-of-market-profiling/?af_id=6 Context makes a big difference when trading market profile and breakout strategies. RIchard uses an example from the gold futures market where we see a wedge buildup and a double inside day lead into a key breakout. With these types of setups for a breakout you don't want to see the break occur on low volume as the chance of the market failing and reversing is greatly increased. Instead it is far better to see the wedge trade from the one side all the back down to the other side. This type of context leading up to the break is what adds significance the developing move. Richard then draws attention to how a developing trend shows up on the market profile with areas of low volume followed by areas of high volume accumulation. This type of development further adds significance to a breakout. Finally, Richard compares the breakout in gold to GBPUSD and recalls that a 980 lot order was bid at the low in cable at 1.2880. This order flow information can also be used when planing your execution on the price ladder.
