Can I use beats free for non profit use? | #AskAD 2

04:22
➤ Subscribe to My Channel here: http://goo.gl/afDj04 QOTD: Can I use beats I find online free for non profit use? This depends on the producer you are trying to download beats from. Usually producers will have some kind of free beat download initiative but always get their permission first and don't just stream-rip music from their YouTube channel or try to jack a beat from their website. Make sure that the producer is actually giving away free downloads and there is an official download link to do so. Always follow the producer's rules for using beats for free. That might entail subscribing to their newsletter, joining their website, or following them on social media. Always make sure you understand their free beat policy so you don't run the risk of being served a copyright strike. Just because a producer is giving away free downloads to their beats that doesn't mean you can record a song and sell it online, perform with it live or put it on the radio. Free beats are for non profit use only, which means you can record a song and give it away for free or have people stream it on sites like SoundCloud or YouTube. You can't put it on the radio, as that usually entails some sort of royalty payment, and you can't perform with it live as venues usually pay performance fees or have cover/drinks charges at the venue, which means the producer's music is being used in a monetized fashion (other people are benefiting financially). What you also can't do is upload a video or song to YouTube and monetize it with advertisements. In order to do that you need a Synchronization license. When in doubt, always talk to the producer about your intended use of their beats and get their blessing. Always give credit to the producer, whether that's in the song/video title, description, or anywhere else you can fit it. Let's flip the question on its head for a second; should producers give away free beats to artists? In my opinion yes you should, but only if you're getting something in return. For example, you could be asking an artist for their email address, you could ask them to register on your site, or you could ask them to follow you on Twitter or subscribe to your YouTube channel before downloading. Always look to get some sort of value out of giving something away for free. Otherwise you're just throwing away your hard work for nothing which doesn't serve anyone and waters down the entire music production industry which doesn't help you or anyone else. On the other hand, when I first started producing over a decade ago, giving out free beats really helped me to grow my brand awareness, network with musicians and build my future relationships with artists with a lot of potential and talent. For me, a lot of the artists I used to give free beats to, are now the same great recurring clients that are signed to indie and major labels and buy from me regularly. Some are also videomakers who now own huge YouTube channels or make feature films and TV shows using my beats. You can see that potentially there can be a lot of power in giving away something for free and you will get something back in the long term. So yes, give away beats for free, but make sure you get something in return! Subscribe to My Channel and post any questions you have under this video. I will do my best answer all of them for you. Examples of such causes can be to help a community, homelessness, nature, human rights, animal rights, or a number of other causes. The other thing that makes an nonprofit organization is the tax expemption they get from the IRS. Additionally, there are some restrictions about how a nonprofit must distribute its profit. Step 1: Log in to your Paypal account and go to "Merchant Service"s. Step 2: Click on "choose a payment" solution and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Step 3: You will see a section called "Non-profits". Click on it. Paypal presents you with a full package of information for your charity. Step 4: Click on " Pricing". Here are the fees that you can have as a non-profit in the Paypal system. Step 5: Let's see now how we can create donation buttons for your charity organization. Again, from the Merchant Services tab, select Donate from the Create Buttons menu. Type in the name of your charity and all the other information you want to present to your donators. You can save your button on the Paypal website for later use if you want. Step 6: Click "Create" button. Step 7: Your code is generated and you can copy-paste it into your charity's website. It will look exactly like the one on the right. Results: Congratulations! You have learned how to set up and use Paypal for non-profit.

Start a Nonprofit: Filing for 501c3 Tax Exempt Status

17:33
SPECIAL NOTE (Sept. 1, 2014): There is now a form 1023EZ. It is shorter than this form (in video), cost less and you get your 501.c.3 quicker. Though you will still need to have all the documents I listed below. Learn more about the 1023EZ at: http://nonprofitally.com/get-your-501c3-fast-tax-exempt-in-weeks This video is an overview of the 501c3 nonprofit 1023 application process. To become a tax deductible nonprofit you need to get 501.c.3 status. To do this you must submit a form 1023 to the IRS. You must also include your nonprofit articles of incorporation and your bylaws. Here are some other important details you should be aware as you start the 501.c.3. process: BEFORE YOU START filling out form 1023, be sure you have: Filed your Articles of Incorporation: http://nonprofitally.com/articles Prepared your Bylaws: http://nonprofitally.com/bylaws Held your First Nonprofit Meeting: http://nonprofitally.com/meeting The IRS is going to ask for some specific details to be documented in you application. So be prepared to spend a few days filling out this form and gathering your resources. YOUR ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION and/or your bylaws should include: A statement of your exempt purpose(s), (such as charitable, religious, educational, and/or scientific purposes) A dissolution clause A conflict of interest clause ALSO, BE PREPARED TO give detailed answers about your*: Compensation of officers, directors, trustees, employees, and independent contractors Past, present, and planned activities Financial revenues and expenses *You may not know all of this information if you are a new nonprofit. An informed best guess is suitable, just be sure to state this in your documentation. OTHER RESOURCES A great book to help with this process is the "Nolo: How to Form a Nonprofit Corporation". This book includes a CD with sample bylaws and articles of incorporation. Learn more about the book at: http://nonprofitally.com/nolo (This is an affiliate link. I only recommend what I use and this book was invaluable. I highly recommend it.) The Nonprofit Ally website has a FREE "How to Start a Nonprofit" section at: http://nonprofitally.com/start-a-nonprofit Good luck. I hope this was helpful.

Can My Business Be a Nonprofit?

52:09
http://grantspace.org/tools/multimedia/webinars/can-my-business-be-a-nonprofit-2014-02-26 This recorded webinar presents questions and answers for startups to decide if their business-oriented idea can qualify for nonprofit public charity status. We have been getting a lot of questions along these lines: - I want to start a business selling widgets and donate 50-100% of proceeds to charity and/or for every widget sold, donate a widget to a developing country. Can/Should I form a nonprofit org? - I have a business that does XYZ services. I want to spend half of my time providing XYZ services to (name disadvantaged group here, e.g., seniors, low income, etc.). Can/Should I form a nonprofit org? - I want to start a business that employs disabled veterans. Can/Should I form a nonprofit org? - I'm making a film, art, educational software, invention, etc. with some commercial potential. Can it qualify for fiscal sponsorship? Each of these scenarios seemingly could fit within either a for-profit or a nonprofit model. So, what ARE the essential questions (and answers) you should ask yourself to decide if you should form a for-profit (albeit with social purposes), nonprofit, a nonprofit that is highly entrepreneurial, or some other type of organization? This webinar will provide answers and guidance on how to decide which route is best for your own goals and needs. See also Benoit Wirz's slideshow, which summarizes the decision-making process very well. Recorded on 2/26/2014 Visit us at http://www.grantspace.com for more helpful resources. Non-Profit Business Plan

03:56
https://qtbizsolutions.leadpages.co/nonprofitbusinessplan/ Non-profit Business Plan Hi, Tina Williams here from qtbizsolutions.com and chances are you found this video because you were looking for a non-profit business plan. I want to ask you are you really asking you for the business plan or are you asking for how to open your non-profit and more importantly, I thing, how do you get funded in your nonprofit so that you can pay yourself, pay your employees and actually afford help the people that you really want to help. Well to answer the question of where to start in your non-profit business plan I would say the first step is to file your nonprofit articles of incorporation with your state. You can use your state's pre-formulated articles of incorporation for a domestic nonprofit but you must make sure that the three clauses that the IRS requires in your forming documentation to become tax exempt are present. So those are going to be the clauses about dissolving your company and make sure that the money goes to a good cause. Those three clauses need to be in your forming documentation in order for you to be tax exempt and being tax-exempt, I'm going to say, is the most important part of becoming a nonprofit organization also the most important step in your non-profit business plan. The next step in your non-profit business plan is filing your form 1023 or 1023 EZ. This is the form that you need to file with the IRS in order to become tax-exempt. Form 1023 EZ is a shortened form of form 1023 but you still need to have all the documentation for 1023 to file Form 1023 EZ, so I say even if you want to file form 1023EZ you still need all of the supporting documentation and attachments that are required with form 1023. I would have you filled that out and prepare form 1023 anyway. This will make things a lot easier in the future for grantmakers and banking. Once you are tax-exempt things get a lot easier because people can get a tax deduction for giving you money and making grants to you. Now the next step in your non-profit business plan is to find a grant funder that wants to help their target that you want to help. There over five million grant makers and most have requirements to pay out at least 5% of their assets annually so this step should be an easy one. Then you would submit your grant and donation requests to those funders and get your business funded. The final step in your non-profit business plan is to get customers that you want to help. You will actually need to help the people that you promised to help when you made your grant and donation requests to those grant funders. And that's it... you will repeat steps 3 and 4 forever. If you found this video helpful please like the video leave a comment and if you would like some free training on how to open your nonprofit and get a non-profit business template you can go to qtbizsolutions.com/nonprofitbusinessplan and download that information for free. My? is this I wanted to start online business with art. I went to a Start Up Incubator. They told me they help me but it has to be for profit company. What if your not sure if you want a non profit company because some of the proceeds would go to Nursing Home or the artist.I am not an artist but I want to help people and this would be my way to give back. I just don't know if this venture would generate the ROI to justify the cost? What are you thoughts? Greg"
