In the previous section I discussed some of the key points around project consolidation, the reasons that you might want to split projects up and the reasons why you might want to join projects together. And one of the key aspects that comes out of that is the importance of deciding on how to deal with resources. And in relation to our charity event we came across the first key issue, which is that if we start to split the event into separate projects we somehow need to make sure that those projects are using the same resources. And so what I’m going to cover in this section is how to set up a resource pool and how to share the resource pool between a number of projects. My starting point for this section is the ending point for the preceding section. So I still have my complete list of tasks here, Charity Event All, and I also have also open at the moment the individual Sports Day project that I created in the preceding section. Note that the tasks involved in the Sports Day project are also still in the All project, the one you’re looking at at the moment. And clearly at some stage I need to remove those as they are now in a separate project. But I’m going to set up the resource pool first. Now one of the key aspects of a resource pool is that generally speaking we set it up as a project with resources but no tasks. And quite often you’ll want to set up a resource pool right at the outset when you’re working on a project or a group of projects that are going to share that resource pool. So on many occasions you’ll start off with a completely empty MPP. Go to the Resource Sheet, start entering your resources, make up your resource pool, and then save that project but with no tasks. Now on this occasion we already have a good starting point for our resource pool because if I look at the Resource Sheet for the All project I’ve already got all of my resources. And I’m going to basically save a copy of the All project, remove all of the tasks in that project and that will become my resource pool. So what I’m going to do is click on File, Save As and then I’m going to browse to my normal course files folder and save the Charity Event All project. And the saved project is going to be CharityEvent_Resources.mpp. There it is. Click on Save. And having saved CharityEvent_Resources.mpp what I’m going to do is to select all of the tasks and I’m going to hit the Delete key. I now have a project with no tasks. But if I click to the Resource Sheet of course I still have all of my resources. And this is now my resource pool. Now let me switch back into the individual project, the Sports Day project. In the previous section, we took our NFF Master project and we separated out the resource pool completely, and then we made sure that the master project uses the resource pool, and then that the three subprojects within the master project also used that same resource pool. In this way, we've truly got a common sharing of resources throughout the project. Now in this section what we're going to do is to look at the practicalities of working in this situation. Let's begin by supposing that I'm the project manager for the overall project and what I want to do now is to simply open the master project. Now when I try to open the master project, I immediately come across one of the key points that's necessary to understand when it comes to sharing resources. So if I click on File and then from the Open, I click on NFF Master I see a message. Now you can already see the master project there, the Gantt Chart View in the background but what happens is that Project 2013 realizes that this particular project is using a resource pool and it gives me two choices. Now one choice, as you can see from the selected radio button there, is Open resource pool to see assignments across all sharer files. Now if I'm interested in looking at resourcing and in particular if I may want to look at resource leveling or resource overallocation, in order to really see what's going on it's going to be necessary for me to open the resource pool. In opening the resource pool, that will give me the ability to look at resource assignments throughout all of the projects that share that resource pool. Now, I did mention earlier on that it's not necessarily the case that that resource pool is only being used by the projects you've seen before. What if one of the other project managers in my company has been told to use the same resource pool? That other project manager may be using those resources and making assignments in those resources as well. So what it's really saying to me here is if you want to be able to look at resource assignments and know how your resource assignments are looking, you need to open the pool itself so that you can see assignments across all of the projects that are sharing that resource pool. Now as you'll see, when I come to open this project and the resource pool in a little while, it will actually be opened in Read Only mode so I won't be able to make changes to the resource pool as such. We're going to look at that a little bit later on. But it does enable me to see assignments. Now the second option says "Do not open other files." So in this case, I'm not going to be able to see the assignments. So in what sort of situation might I choose that option? Well, clearly I'm not going to choose that when I've got resource assignments to make or change because I won't be able to check the availability of resources even. But I might choose it in situations such as one where what I really want to do is to add a load of tasks to a project and I'm not doing resource assignments at the moment. I'm just basically entering the task, maybe even importing them from another source. I'm going to deal with resources later on. Oh-oh! In this and the next few sections we’re going to look at a couple of related topics in Project 2016. And we’re going to look at these two topics together because you very often need to use them perhaps for the first time on one large program of work or one very large project. Now what quite often happens when you’re working on a large project is that the project gets larger and larger and maybe becomes a set of projects or perhaps you’re working on a program that needs to be split into a set of projects. And not only do you need to split the work up but different people are going to manage different parts of that body of work. And what often happens is that the different projects although they need to be managed separately share resources. So what we’re going to look at in the next few sections are combining multiple projects into one, or if you like splitting a large project into several projects, and sharing resources between projects. So it’s project consolidation and resource sharing that we’re covering here. Now in order to demonstrate these two techniques I’m going to use an example of a charity event. And the idea is that we’re going to run a charity event and it’s going to comprise actually three events within one. There will be a gala dinner, there will be a fashion show and buffet lunch and there will be a sports day and barbeque. So the gala dinner will be a fundraising dinner where we’ll charge the participants a pretty heavy admission price but for that they’ll get a good dinner, there’ll probably be a prize draw, some entertainment and so on, probably some dancing. And then the fashion show and buffet lunch we’ll invite local fashion houses to put on a show. And as part of that we’ll provide a good buffet lunch. And again we’ll charge a suitable admission charge for all of the people that want to see the fashion show and enjoy the buffet lunch. And we’re also going to run a sports day, pretty much a family focused event and that will include a barbeque. Now I need to point out to you that as we’re dealing with an event where the planning and execution could become very complex indeed and with very large numbers of participants involved and where in reality it will probably cover a very considerable period of time I’ve actually compressed the detail and compressed the timescales here in order to cover this in a reasonable amount of time on the course. Having said that, all of the key features that you need to be aware of are covered in what I’m going to do here. Sorry, we couldn't fit the entire video transcription here since YouTube only allows 5000 characters.

The transmission control protocol (TCP) allows multiple computers or connections to share internet resources fairly. It does this by slowing down dramatically when it detects packet loss within the network. Since packet loss is frequently caused by congestion at some shared link or router that is servicing multiple TCP connections, one connection slowing down creates capacity that other connections can use. TCP tries to run connections as fast as possible without losing packets, which both enables sharing and avoids expensive retransmissions. Here's a little story that illustrates the value of sharing resources and creating something from nothing. There are many versions of it, and I'm not sure where it comes from originally, but here goes: Many years ago in a time of great hardship and famine an old soldier wandered into a poverty stricken village and asked for shelter for the night. "There's nothing to eat here," the villagers told him, "you'd better move on!" "I have enough here to make soup for all of us," the soldier replied, "if I could just borrow a large pot." Curious, the villagers produced a pot and stood around watching as the soldier filled it with water and built a small fire underneath. He then took three round stones from a small bag and dropped them into the water. As the water came to the boil the soldier sniffed it hungrily saying, "I do love stone soup, but if I just had a little cabbage it would taste even better!" At this one of the villagers disappeared returning a few minutes later with a cabbage he has been hiding and put it into the pot. A while later the soldier tasted the soup and says "Hmm, this is good, but a couple of carrots would make better still." Again a villager produced a bunch of carrots and so it went on as potatoes, onions, mushrooms and a bit of salt beef were all added to the pot until there was indeed a delicious meal for all. It might seem like something from the free-loving 1960s, but ‘sharing’ can make a lot of sense when it comes to your finances. From sharing a mortgage, car journeys and even childcare, pulling together to increase purchasing power or reduce costs has never been more popular.Rising house prices are forcing buyers to be more imaginative about how they get on to the property ladder. This can sometimes mean buying with a parent or sibling, or even purchasing with friends.Sharing a mortgage with friends is no longer viewed as unusual with many mainstream banks and building societies willing to lend.Although some will accept up to four unrelated people on a mortgage, most will only use the highest two incomes when determining how much they are prepared to lend. Hinckley & Rugby Building Society and Halifax are more flexible.Jordan Ball, a 25-year-old programme manager for an aeroplane parts manufacturer, has just celebrated one year in the first home he bought with two friends in Luton, Bedfordshire.By clubbing together and sharing mortgage repayments with Lloyd King and Connor Green, both also 25, Jordan has been able to take that often elusive first step on to the property ladder.Jordan says: ‘We are all lucky to be in stable, well-paid jobs.’ Connor is a quality inspector for the same company Jordan works for while Lloyd works in computing. Jordan adds: ‘We were renting together and when a house came on to the market in the same street we looked at the financial numbers to see if we could get a mortgage between us.’The three friends secured a £234,000 mortgage with Halifax, paying a six per cent deposit – almost £5,000 each – on the £249,000 asking price. They took a two-year fixed rate at 3.59 per cent. At about £1,183 a month between them the mortgage repayments come in at about the same as they were paying collectively in rent.‘There is no way I could have bought on my own,’ says Jordan. ‘This way I am not wasting money in rent. Hopefully, if property prices rise I will build up some equity. In time, when we are ready to move on, we shall be in a stronger financial position. We all plan to stay in the house for at least five years.’While buying with friends can make financial sense, borrowers must tread with caution. Consider taking legal advice to fully understand the implications of buying together.Lenders will view all borrowers as jointly and severally liable for the mortgage. This means they can chase any – or all – parties for payments if mortgage arrears accumulate. Liability is not limited to the share that each borrower pays towards the mortgage each month. Also, borrowers need to think about what they would do if one of them wants to sell before the others. David Hollingworth, mortgage expert at London and Country Mortgages in Bath, Somerset, says: ‘If someone wants out in a house bought jointly, the others may be able to buy out the share, but if they cannot they would have to find another friend to buy into the property and take on the mortgage – or else sell. Talking about these scenarios at the outset should help avoid problems or conflict at a later stage.’Homeowners can also share their home – and save money at the same time – through house swapping.Thousands of homeowners swap properties every year in ‘home-from-home’ holidays. Not only do you get a change of scene and try out living somewhere new, but as this is a home swap you will have built-in house-sitters looking after your property while you are away.A number of w1

So the challenge when you have resource information locally to a current file is you might want to duplicate the same information across multiple files. The second challenge is in case if a resource is over loaded with work it is quite difficult to find it because that data is duplicated across multiple files. So I am not going to add my resource information here rather I am going to go to the resource tab and I am going to select the resource pool button and uses option called share resources.

The global economy is in crisis. The exponential exhaustion of natural resources, declining productivity, slow growth, rising unemployment, and steep inequality, forces us to rethink our economic models. Where do we go from here? In this feature-length documentary, social and economic theorist Jeremy Rifkin lays out a road map to usher in a new economic system. A Third Industrial Revolution is unfolding with the convergence of three pivotal technologies: an ultra-fast 5G communication internet, a renewable energy internet, and a driverless mobility internet, all connected to the Internet of Things embedded across society and the environment. This 21st century smart digital infrastructure is giving rise to a radical new sharing economy that is transforming the way we manage, power and move economic life. But with climate change now ravaging the planet, it needs to happen fast. Change of this magnitude requires political will and a profound ideological shift. I share my top 10 Photography Apps and Resources that can make your photography better, easier, more efficient and more fun. Lightroom Mobile - https://goo.gl/YznzDv OS Maps - https://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/getoutside/osmaps/ 500px - https://500px.com/firstmanphotography Instagram - http://instagram.com/adamkarnacz Photopills - https://www.photopills.com/ Medium - https://medium.com/@AdamKarnacz Website - https://www.firstmanphotography.com/ I often get asked about what apps I am using and why. In the crowded world of photography apps it can quickly get overwhelming. So i've curated this list of my best apps 2017 and 2018 that I use most often that solve a variety of different problems I encounter on a day to day basis. Adobe Lightroom First up is Lightroom. I talked about the Adobe Lightroom ecosystem a couple of weeks ago but having the ability to do photo editing, or tweak your images on the go, is a very nice feature and often saves time. One of the best features of the phone app though is the built in camera that will shoot Raw DNG files. I use this a lot and it's impressive how much control you have of the image in post production. Photopills Next up is Photopills. I've mentioned this a few times before. It’s an absolute must for nearly all photographers, especially landscapers. You can plan your shoots, work out exposure times, arrange time lapses, measure hyperfocal distances and it's got a brilliant AR mode that shows where the sun will be setting. It is also perfect for planning milky way shots, subject distances and a lot more. I like it because it brings lots of things into one place and is like a Swiss army knife of photography. Canon Connect Next is the Canon camera connect app. A lot of the new Canon cameras now have built in WiFi which means they will connect to a phone, tablet or laptop giving you remote control of the camera. I've found myself using this more and more in the field. If the camera is low down I can stand and fire the camera from a more sensible position. If I need to change exposure, that can all be done from the app. It is also perfect for video. I used it to monitor myself with the iPad while creating this video and also to focus and stop and start the record. It can be used in situations like weddings. I might have one camera set up to record video whilst I'm taking pictures with another. Its a level of control and multi tasking that just did not exist before. Weather App 4th on the list is a weather app. If you ever shoot outside, you'll need one. I use the BBC weather app. It is not always the most accurate but it's easy and you can monitor multiple locations. I also like that it's not always accurate because as a landscape photographer, good images can be captured in every condition. If you only went out when you knew it was going to be nice you'd miss out on a lot. Ordnance Survey Map App Next is the OS Map app. This is a mapping app for the UK. When you're out shooting landscape photography it's vital for safety to know exactly where you are. I'm going to be talking about this more in future videos, but for a small annual fee you have access to a the OS maps and your GPS position shows exactly where you are. It has helped me out of a few jams this year! 500px Next is 500px. I recently, and finally, started uploading to the photo sharing site 500px. This is a good social platform for photographers where you can see good quality photography without the huge amount of rubbish you see on Instagram. There is also a range of new features for enthusiasts and professionals wanting to sell their work and overall it seems like a good community. Flickr is dead so please check out my 500px page at First Man Photography. Instagram Next up is Instagram. You know why. If you're not, you should. Hyperlapse Another app from Instagram is Hyperlapse. This is designed primarily to easily capture a Hyperlapse as you walk. It works by digitally stabilising the footage whilst you shoot, giving a smoother shot at the end. You can slow the Hyperlapse down to real time so it's a great way to capture stabilised footage straight onto your phone. It is free and definitely worth a try. Medium Medium is a blogging platform that puts the written word front and centre. It has great content from from the newest writers, to the best writers in the world. I have been writing and contributing to the Vantage publication for a couple years now. It is one of the biggest photography platforms on Medium and has some great articles to get stuck into. Traditional Websites Finally we have the humble website. There are some amazing photography resources out there that I consume and contribute to on a regular basis. Blog slights like PetaPixel and FStoppers, Canon Rumours is always fun, Skippy sky, the OS website, Google maps for planning and getting to places, and of course the First Man Photography website. Most of the above have android app and iphone apps.

Andrew Roberts talks about the Christian Habit of SHARING. There is a great example of sharing from The Food Hub in Shrewsbury. This organisation collects food from local supermarkets, and distributes to anyone in need through schools, charities, churches and food banks. We also hear from Revd Melanie Smith. Biblically, simply giving is just not going to cut it. Like Jesus, Christians should not only overthrow the modern tables of the debt-based and theologically justified monetary system, they must find life-giving, environmentally sustaining and equality-creating alternatives to it... Rather than deploying a dedicated file server, many small businesses use shared folders hosted off workstations as a method of sharing documents. In this practice, you configure Windows 7 to share data using the built-in HomeGroup functionality as well as sharing through the creation of dedicated shared folders. Configuring Libraries and HomeGroup Settings In this exercise, you create a new library and then share it. You also modify the HomeGroup password from the one created during setup to one that is easier for other users of the HomeGroup to remember. Advanced Folder Sharing In this exercise, you share a folder using the Create A Shared Folder Wizard. You would use this method to share a folder when you connect your computer to a Domain network. When you connect your computer to a domain network, you cannot use the HomeGroup functionality of Windows 7, though it is possible to share libraries directly.

Humanity faces a global emergency. Since 2008, unemployment has increased by 50% in Europe as a whole. 43% of the world’s population live on less than 2 dollars a day, while 2.5 billion people have no access to sanitation. 15 Million people die each year of a lack of access to food, water and healthcare. The poor are becoming poorer, the rich even richer. Isn’t it about time to rethink the global economic order? Our guest Rajesh Makwana is the executive director of “Share the World’s Resources” – a not-for-profit organization based in London. He’s an expert on the Sharing Economy – a new concept which aims to help solving the global problems humanity is facing. ➤ Welt im Wandel.TV abonnieren: http://bit.ly/WiW-Abonnieren ➤ Die Welt anders sehen: http://welt-im-wandel.tv ➤ Welt im Wandel.TV auf Facebook: http://fb.com/weltimwandeltv ➤ Welt im Wandel.TV auf Google+: http://google.com/+weltimwandeltv

Sometimes our opening activities occur in the morning, but more often than not, they happen anytime throughout the day. And while I do wish we had more routine to our schedule, it is a good rhythm that has worked for us for several years now. We do aim to start at 8am, and we do aim to have lunch at 1pm, but after that, no two days are the same. Ideally, we'd start at 8am with some independent work or free play for the little ones, and move on to our main lesson at 9am. Ideally, we'd reserve the time after lunch for our handwork or hands-on projects and outings. Today, I'm sharing what it looks like to do our opening activities for our main lesson. We are in the middle of our Middle Ages main lesson block and we are using the Professor Noggin's Medieval Times Card Game to get us started on today's lessons. We can't do this game often because we play all the cards and it takes about 30 minutes. I found for this unit, it worked especially well about midway through our unit so we could draw on information we'd already learned. You'll probably notice I really get into playing games with my children. If you're the same, you'll probably like the same games we do, if you don't care for games, that's ok! There are plenty other opening activities you can do. Just find one that's right for you. Check out the blog post for this video to see all the resources we've used for this unit as well as links to the products we've used. https://www.pepperandpine.com/everything-you-n…s-medieval-times/ **This is NOT a sponsored video. Over the years, while helping authors get published, we realized that researchers have a lot of questions about publication and would like someone to guide them through the publication process. Similarly, journal editors always want to reach out to authors and share their expectations or explain best publication practices. We realized that there was a distinct gap—between authors and journals—and that it was necessary to bridge this gap through a common platform. This thought led us to create Editage insights—a comprehensive learning and knowledge sharing platform that provides learning resources and information about all aspects of publishing. Watch this video to know more about how Editage Insights helps bring researchers and publication professionals across the globe together under one roof by helping bridge the gap between them.
