Tourism from India to Russia grows 27.5%, pre-launch of Ural Airlines and Indian Friendly program in Russia
At the recently concluded Round Table on Tourism on the sidelines of the Russian Indian Summit (October 2018) Mr. Ivan Breganov, Regional Manager of IFS (Russian Visa Center) confirmed that the number of tourist visas issued in 2018 (9 months) has already surpassed the total number of visas issued in 2017, pegging the YoY growth around 27%.
The round table was organised by Russ Expo Center, Moscow along with Russ Information Center LLP, Mumbai (RIC) with more than 120 trade professionals from India attending along with the MC Member of TAAI Mr. Rajan Sehgal and Executive Vice President of EEMA, Mr. Sanjiv Pasricha making the key note address along with Mr. Timur Vekilov, Chief Representative in India of Russ Expo Center.
The round table moderated by Paresh Navani Director Russ Information Center LLP discussed the needs and special services required by Indian Tourists and ways to address the same.
In this regard Russ Information Center LLP announced the pre-launch of Ural Airlines which begin its operations from 24 March 2019 connecting Mumbai to Yekaterinburg and Moscow along with some tourism products to take advantage of the new airline service between the two countries, further RIC presented its 'Indian Friendly' program to the Indian travel trade, the Indian Friendly program trains Russian hotels on Indian culture, cooking Indian dishes and ensure that other specific needs are provided to Indians in Russia.
Another point noted by the attendees was that tourists from Russia to India has also grown over the last years by around 29%, clearly showing good recovery of arrival compared to the past few years.
With the help of the Indian Friendly program in Russia and the beaches and heritage of India adding to the close relationship that India shares with Russia, tourism from India to Russia and vice versa is posed for solid growth in the coming years.
